This was in a post I made in the Redneck Rampage thread in General Discussion, but it was suggested I should put it here too, so here ya go!:
Since 'Suckin' Grits On Route 66' is an add-on to the original, why is the entire first game of 'Redneck Rampage' included TWICE? Route 66 has a separate folder with the original game included again with it. Wouldn't it be easier to just put the Route 66 files in with the original Redneck Rampage and save around 150MB of hard disk space? I recall the Route 66 expansion only taking up around 40MB or so.
In other words, Redneck Rampage and it's expansion have separate executables, and separate shortcuts, so people can play with or without the expansion. Since the expansion folder has all of the data that's in the original games' separate folder, it's needlessly duplicated. Is there a reason for this?
do you have the option of editing your post and flagging it as a question?
I'd like to know when it's solved without having to page through fifty questions of 'lol, yeah why?' I'll just wait until you say it's solved, and then look for that post..
Hey EternalSonata,
this was initially intended. However in new installer which will be available online soon this issue will be resolved and files won't be duplicated anymore.

Cool! =) It wasn't a huge complaint or anything, just something I noticed. May I ask why it was initially intended? You could just put the Route 66 files in with Redneck Rampage since they have separate .exe files and .conf files.

hey, is there gonna be some kind of patcher for that, I don't want to have to pick out my save files and then reinsert them into a new installation..

There is no patcher at the moment, but you can always uninstall the game choosing to keep your savegames and then install the game again.
