Thought I'd put up a quick list of Red Baron 3D mod sites to get you started.
First put the 3D back into RB3D. There's several Glide emulators for those of you who don't happen to have a Voodoo card laying around. The two most popular are dgVoodoo http://dege.freeweb.hu/ and Glidos http://www.glidos.net/ Polovski's dgVoodoo FAQ courtesy of the Internet Archive http://web.archive.org/web/20080531114428/http://www.polovski.com/FAQ/dgvoodoo.htm Regardless of the emulator you use if you start getting technicolor terrain limit texture memory to 2-4 Mb. It's a flaw in the game as it was originally made for early Voodoo1+2 cards and even affected my old Voodoo3.
Hell's Angels SuperPatch All in one patch adds new flight models, damage models, 3d models, skins, sounds, music, etc... This one is the easiest to use just pretty much install and play.

Society of World War One Sim Artisians http://www.swwisa.net/ You can find several mods here including new fronts. The most popular is the Western Front Patch http://swwisa.net/wfp/ which adds around 100 new aircraft and several other features.
vonObens Flight Simulator site http://vonoben.free.fr/ Hosts Beery's UOP and some other mod files.
Good hunting!
