My display is full vertically but horizontally it is full top and bottom and shrinks in the center making the margins curved. Has this something to do with DOS mode, my monitor or something else? The game can be played but it is annoying and will prevent me from getting other games til the problem's solved.

Like that?? I am assuming Red Baron 1 as RB3D does not run in DOS mode. Contact their support and give them the details of your computer, OS and the game. I found them to be very helpful and concerned with getting the games they support up and running. The only thing I can think of would be using the monitor's menu to change the PinCushion mode, but I am assuming that this only happens with the game you are playing.

If you haven't fixed this, something similar happened to me and I simply unchecked the "Windows" option in favor of the "Glide" option and it became full screen. I believe too that, if "Windows" is checked, the resolution setting affects the box size. You might also play around with different resolutions.
