Species8472rc3: I felt the same way - wishing there was more. :)
The devs official response to questions about future DLC was "
we prefer to make new games" and that got me thinking about what Rebel Galaxy looks like as a whole...
What would happen if you were developing and testing a new engine for a space RPG...? You create placeholder content -- just enough for a truly playable test -- and then you realize that the test content is good enough to release as a short game... So you do that, and (aside from making a small profit) you also put the engine through the best possible real-world test on the widest range of hardware possible. That's what Rebel Galaxy seems like, and it fits with the short campaign, limited art/dialogue and the devs not having any plans for DLC at all. My guess is that they aren't bothering as they're now hard at work on the REAL project -- which will roll out under an engine that's already survived its first trial-by-fire... ;)
Interesting theory. I wonder if it'll pan out.
johnnygoging: spoilers
does anybody know whether trying your lot in the with the pirates changes the game significantly? I imagine your reps flip but how does it all figure into the double jack thugs? they don't have any ships of their own and I'd imagine going that way you end up flying red evil stuff. anybody played that way can share somethings about it maybe without ruining any story stuff (up to you)?
I've no idea.
Try it and let the rest of us know what happens! :-)
