I have Windows 7 and, unfortunately, ROTH doesn't seem to like it.

I've tried everything I can think of (changed screen resolutions, tried every ROTH setting, hit Alt gr Enter etc etc) but ROTH is still playing in the DOS box which, let me tell you looks really ugly with its big blue borders and distracts from the gameplay.

It's still playable, of course, but would love to get this game to play in fullscreen mode.

Any ideas?

Have you marked the "Fullscreen" checkbox in the graphic mode setup?

Yep. That was already checked, but I double checked the check to check :)

Nothing changed - still in window mode with a blue bar at the top of the screen and, sometimes when I open it, the menu bar at the bottom too. Can't even get rid of the menu bar as the cursor jams in-game and won't let me click on anything outside the window including the menu bar.]

Weirdly, gameplay is going great - just wish I could get rid of the two blue bars!!!

Do you by any chance have an AMD/Ati videocard?

I do, and I can't play in full screen mode! It'll be all black and apparently very slow (judging by the sound).

Is there a way to fix it? For example by disabling the discrete card from Bios?

Thanks!

Only thing I can think of is go to the driversettings (AMD VISION Engine Control Center), then go to My Digital Flat-Panels, then Properties and then check Enable GPU scaling and then select Scale image to full panelsize.

Thanks for the info.

Apparently, on laptops scaling option is not available!

I had to do the following [for others who may have similar issue]:

1. Change the switching method to manual
2. Set the GPU to power saving (intel HD)
3. Lower the resolution from the display native (to 600x800, for example)
4. NOW the scaling option will become available in the intel HD graphics control panel

However, I just remembered there's also a video config available for the dosbox games in the start menu; maybe that changing the resolution there will fix it without needing to do all this?

Curious. I also have Windows 7 and ROTH played in full-screen mode right from the off. This doesn't help you much, except that your full-screen problem can't be just due to W7. :-)
