Anybody had any crashing issues? On the first episode everything was perfect but on episode two (and only 2 levels in) the game seems to crash a lot...

In your Realms of Chaos installation folder, in the DOSBOX sub-folder, there should be some files that show error messages, like stderr.txt and stdout.txt. Does it say anything in those files? Are you getting any error messages? And does this happen randomly or when you take some particular action in the game?

Using joystick Controller (XUSB Gamepad) with 5 axes, 10 buttons and 1 hat(s)

That's the text. It crashed during changing of the character, once while attacking with the sword and while loading a new level. Been a bit more stable now. (Quicksaved a bit more). Maybe it had something to do with my controller? It was plugged in but i didn't use it because walking left didn't work for some reason, now I unplugged it...

Thx for the reply!

Been stable through the rest of the episode. And through half of the third. Maybe it was random, maybe it was controller related or maybe the first few levels from ep 2 are buggy. I am past it now.

I am getting my ass kicked by the big boss of ep 2 though. I have actually given up and am halfway through the 3rd ep now. I can't even come close with the boss (normal difficulty), it's ridiculous. I get Always hit buy the ceiling rocks and almost can't damage him. Tried it a lot and best I got: 1.5 health orbs down of 5!! That's not even close...
Alright, good thing it's stable now, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

As for the boss, the boss itself has a predictable pattern, but those falling ceiling rocks are random, so it's down to luck and timing. =/

It's all good ;) at least you directed me to the dosbox file and that made me unplug the controller. No idea if that's what caused it but it might.

I finished the game now without anymore crashes. DIdn't have a lot of difficulties with the end boss. Hard yes, but felt a lot more fair then the episode 2 boss. The random stones are too hard to avoid in combination with avoiding the boss and then attacking (and he needs a lot of hits) and with limited health on normal difficulty. I eventually caved and used some cheatcodes on him and even then I barely got him...

Yup. Same here. on E2M2 the game insta-crashes.
How does the game crash? Is it anything like what happened to me?

I had just finished episode 1, and the game offered to launch episode 2 for me, so I accepted. I started playing it, and I was fighting some enemies in the first level, specifically some frogs, and I was walking around to cause more of them to spawn. At one point, Eldrick was airborne and so was a frog, and the game froze...graphics just frozen in place, while the music continued playing. And the odd thing was the music might have been different from before...
