Any way to rebind the controls? The keyboard controls are just terrible and feel backwards rendering the game unplayable to me as-is.

Yes, you'll need to run the setup.exe file in your game directory, then select 'Assign Keyboard Controls'.

I can't run it (the setup.exe), when I try to launch it says it's incompatible with the version of windows Im running. This happens no matter what compatibility setting I put it on or even if I run as administrator. I have Windows 7 64 bit.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention this, but you need to open the file with DOSBox, by either right-clicking on the file and selecting open with DOSBox, or by dragging the file over a DOSBox shortcut or .exe. If you don't have it installed at the moment, you can find the executable in the dosbox sub-folder in your Realms of Chaos folder.
Awesome, thanks! Worked like a charm!
No problem, glad it worked!
I have tried this, but after selecting 'Save & Quit' the DOSBox window remains there. Had to press the Windoys key then close the window. However, the newly redefined keys have no effect. It is still Alt and Control for jump and attack, which I'm not keen on as they surround the Windows key.

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong, please?

Hmm, it doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong, there might be something going on with the setup program. After assigning the new keys, the setup program is supposed to prompt you with an additional confirmation after you select 'Save and Quit' if you've made any changes, otherwise it goes straight to DOS. Not sure what could be causing the game not to properly save the settings.
Yeah, it's a strange one :/
I tried reinstalling the game and a few other things, but nothing seemed to make any difference.
Not to worry, and thanks anyway :)
I could always use the old Ctrl+F1 method in game.

For those who have remapped the controls according to the instructions in the SCPM...

And now are receiving the same standard controls instead of the new ones... The solution is simple: In the game two ROC.cfg files are created, the first one that saves the "SETUP.exe" changes and the second one that saves the changes (I think) from "GOGDOSConfig.exe", anyway, (I said it would be simple, so let's go...) the first ROC.cfg is in the "Realms of Chaos" directory and that's one we're interested, so copy it to the directory "cloud_saves", but before delete the second ROC.cfg that is inside, and that's it! =)

I hope I was clear because my English is like a tortoise in a race. XD

Good fun for everyone!
