It appears that the copy protection in RoA2 is still in place. Once you attempt to save a game, you're asked to type in a particular word from the game's manual. Miss the answer three times and the game closes.

I realize that it's possible to find the correct answer with GOG's attached manual but it would be nice if the game were cracked like a few other similar GOG releases.

Absolutely. This is a series worth keeping accesible, but that part of the saving process was an antiquated drag.

Funnily enough, the German version (Sternenschweif) seems to work for me, but the German version of RoA1 (Schicksalsklinge) still has its copy protection on and the english manuals don't really help. :/

The German manual is in the German installation folder. The answers are on the first page of the manual and also available separately as passcodes.pdf.
