When I attempt to run either RoA 1 or 2 I get the Dosbox screen immediately followed by "Monitor is Working ... Out of Scan Range ... Change PC Setting" and it doesn't stop. I have changed resolution to minimum and/or refresh rate, but to no avail. Other games from GoG run fine. Any advice would be much appreciated.

try experimenting with different DOSBox graphics modes - for example I like to use openglnb with normal 2x as a scaler and 1280x960 as the resolution of choice. Go to the directory and edit the DOSBox settings accordingly... this should probably help.
