Hi, I'm playing with the idea of acquiring this, if someone can get it to work on the above system, perhaps with an ATI 4850, I'd be very pleased to be informed about this, as I can't get it to work with the retail version that I have so far, and I don't want to "gamble" a tenner on such an old game.
I hear Win 7 support is being "worked on", if someone with a working win7 64 bit system got this working, please let me know. I need some sort of green light post for a purchase.

Wow, just wanted to report back that it works on this system, and that with an ATI 4850 that was supposed to 'have major issues' on some dodgy forums etc.
Will contribute to the 'games working on Win7 thread now.
PS: An amazing job you guys are doing, I have goose bumps with this game working and high rez wallpapers ;)

It doesn't work for me, and I am running win7 x64. I've logged a ticket with gog support hoping that they have some suggestions for me to try.

This game doesn't work for me. It starts. Then a window comes up saying the program isn't responding. I've tried everything they say. DOESN'T work

I think you only suffer problems with this game if you have a mid-high to high ATI card :(

When I saw the new installer I thought I could play, but not. We should contact support, so they can fix it.

The game doesn't work for me either. Upon starting the game, I get a black screen with only the mouse cursor showing up, and as soon as I click anywhere, WIndows tells me that "RainbowSix.exe has stopped working".

I too have this same problem .I have read several places that R6 does not work on ATI cards, which I have as well. I know for rogue spear there is a fix that involves editing the fonts.rdf file, but I don't think R6 contains this file. Someone on here posted a fix that involved using a wrapper program. Using this program I was able to at least get the game to run, but it ran at like 10-15 fps which is just dumb. I hope someone releases a fix for ATI cards.

I'm also on a higher-end ATI card, and I can't even get it to work with the dxwnd wrapper. I've tried everything I've seen suggested and that I can think of - I guess I'm asking for a refund if no one has figured out a way to get it playable on ATI cards.

Just a suggestion to GOG - it would have been nice to have that listed on the product page. I've always been really happy with my purchases, so it seems like an oversight to not mention problems with ATI compatibility.

I know this thread is listed as "Solved" but I was wondering I have the Rainbow Six disc from the early 2000's Counter Terrorism pack (pack includes: Rouge Spear and The Sum of All Fears) and I have had issues running it on my PC I think it might be either my DirectX version or my CPU which has multi-threading and I don't see any options in the setup/.ini files for RS to set the game to use single core only, anyone know what my issue might be and how I can fix it, I've been thinking about just buying it on here but if I'm gonna run into the same issue then it wouldn't be worth it, any help would be greatly appreciated!
