As we know there are problems with running Rainbow Six games on modern hardware. There are solutions however some of which involve using DDrawCompat wrapper (https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat). It's a good option as it should allow you to play all of the Rainbow Six games on Windows 11. For those who want a more complex solution there is the Rainbow Six: Black Ops 2.0 standalone modification: https://www.moddb.com/mods/rainbow-six-black-ops-20. Basically it bundles all of the Rainbow Six and Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear games, as well as their expansions, into one package. It uses the Rainbow Six: Black Thorne engine (which is the most recent one when it comes to Rogue Spear). The fan recreated missions from the first Rainbow Six have some slight differences, but this shouldn't be a huge problem.

Keep in mind that the mod doesn't need any data from the original games. I'm not a supporter of piracy in any form, so I suggest you buy all of the included games one way or another. I'm however also aware that Rogue Spear and its expansions aren't available in official distribution for years, so downloading these games doesn't seem morally incorrect as nor the developers, nor the publisher loses any money. Also the mod has some minor downsides, but it's still the most complete and probably the best way to play the first Rainbow Six games these days (on a side note it also uses DDrawCompat). Unless you're a retro purist who wants the fully faithful original experience, it's the way to go.

Thank you for this information. I have been hoping to replay Rogue Spear for years now, while this isn't ideal, it might be good enough to scratch that itch. The GOG support for R6 is mildly put disappointing.

When it comes to Rogue Spear and its expansions there where almost no changes to the originals. These aren’t recreated but simply taken from the original game and launched on the Black Thorne engine (by mistake I written Black Ops engine in the original post). So in this case you’ll have almost vanilla experience except that all of the missions from the first and second Rainbow Six are lined in a single campaign. That’s basically the biggest downside of the mod. You have to go through the first Rainbow Six to get to Rogue Spear. But there are also save files in the package that allow you to launch any mission you want. Have fun! :)
