It consistently cuts and jumps in gameplay. I'm currently redownloading/installing it and this time not applying the patch to see if that helps, but it's really annoying that every time I die or kill a larger enemy the game freezes up then rubberbands me 3 seconds into the future (and generally causes my death in the process...)

Just wondering if others have this problem and/or if others have a solution.

Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance

EDIT: My specs if they're of concern, and if I'm missing any let me know.

OS: Windows XP (SP3)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 CPU @ 2.80 GHz (Quad-Core)
RAM: 3.0 GB
HDD: 1 TB

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz Processor and Geforce 8400 M , 4GB ram on my Dell XPS M1530 laptop and I noticed this too. I went into my power management options and set my laptop to high performance and this issue went away.

I'm playing on a desktop, and Windows XP doesn't have that option. I've currently uninstalled it to reinstall it without the patch, I'll take your suggestion into consideration once it's running again and attempt to set its processor priority ti high instead of normal and see if that helps anything in the long run.

While I'm not sure if it was refusing to install the patch or setting the games priority to high, it's working perfectly now so let's just leave it at that! Yaaaaaay.
I'm having the same issues. I just bought the game and it does the periodic freeze-and-jump, which makes it impossible to be able to play. I tried the solutions mentioned before (uninstall and reinstall without the patch, set the game priority to high), but it's still doing the same thing. Any other ideas of what to do to help with this? I'm currently running it on my desktop system which has an AMD Phenom 9650 Quad-Core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT video card.

Help!

You might try playing the game unpatched to see if this helps. Also try different compatibility modes for Windows to see if this can help some issues your having.
