(For Evil Islands)

While trying to move the camera with holding the right mouse button, it doesnt move freely up and down. It only jumps from 2 fixed views so I cant get the view I want. CD version doesnt have that which I had installed too. The camera moves freely sideways.What I have tried so far...

* Uninstall both versions (CD&GOG) and install GOG version again.
* Download the installer again
* Tried installing to an other computer.
* Tried every possible video combinations in the options menu in the GOG.com folder in the windows start page.

I am using Vista 32bit.

Tnx.
Engin.

No solution, but just to let you know, i have the same issue on Windows 7 x64.
I will try around a bit and let you know if i get it to work.

EDIT: First tests show this is definitely related to mouse sensitity. if i set it almost fully to the left, (if you move it fully to the left you can't move the camera anymore) i can smoothly change the camera angle. It helps, if your mose allows for it, so reduce the DPI of the mouse as well. This affect the turn speed of the camera as well. Since this does not affect edge scrolling, and i mostly have my camera northed anyway, i can live with it that way.

Thank you. Taking the mouse sensetivity to almost to the left made the game playable tho still annoying. This should be fixed because original game doesnt have that problem.
It's strange that the mouse/keyboard sensitivity affects moving the camera up and down differently than moving it left and right (which works at a different speed as relocating it, in turn). If you set mouse sensitivity at a level that allows you to fine-tune up/down movement to a certain degree, left/right movement becomes painfully slow. It's even worse for keyboard sensitivity; you have to set it as low as possible without being completely turned off, in order to be able to gradually rotate the camera sideways, but even then Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down only lets you switch between max and min positions, no gradual fine-tuning is possible.

As I currently have to play with touchpad instead of mouse, this means I have to use all three different methods of camera control at the same time: right mouse button and touchpad for moving the camera up and down (because gradual up and down movement doesn't work with keyboard controls), Ctrl + left or right key to move the camera sideways (because it's more comfortable than using the touchpad) and moving the mouse cursor to the edges of the screen to change the position of the camera, because keyboard controls are terribly slow for this after I set the keyboard sensitivity low enough to be able to rotate the camera. Manageable, but quite a mess.

Hi!
If you were talking about Evil Islands, this happens because gog installer does not write camera settings to the registry. Here is reg key from original CD:

onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=2063D730C24B1967!169780&authkey=!ALll1mZc5L-qvFY&ithint=file%2creg

(Just add https protocol to the link)

That actually worked. Thank you very much. I already had Camera Settings so i changed those values in registry.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Nival Interactive\EvilIslands\Camera Settings]

"CameraDefaultScrollSpeed"=hex:00,00,c0,3f
"CameraDefaultScrollPowerMouse"=hex:00,00,80,3f

"CameraDefaultRotateSpeed"=hex:9a,99,19,3e
"CameraDefaultRotatePowerMouse"=hex:00,00,80,3f

"CameraDefaultPitchSpeed"=hex:a6,9b,c4,3a
"CameraDefaultPitchPowerMouse"=hex:00,00,80,3f

"CameraDefaultZoomSpeed"=hex:00,00,00,40
"CameraDefaultZoomPowerMouse"=hex:00,00,80,3f
You are welcome!

That's because the game writes its default values on first start. But you've seen how it works : )
I've submitted this issue to support. Let's hope it will work properly out-of-box soon.
Any update on this?

Not sure how i would go about applying above fixes... anyone care to explain?

I found my Rage of Mages 2 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Classes/VirtualStore/MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Rage of Mages 2

I just searched "rage of" and found it that way, tried allod, but found nothing helpful.

These fixes are for the game Evil Islands. I dont think they would work for other games.

Yes sorry. When I opened this topic there was only Evil Islands and the name of the forum was Evil Islands itself. I put a description in the first topic.
Regarding updates. Support answered that they didn't encounter this issue and will wait for further user feedback.

Also I had to remove all my game stuff from onedrive (because MS cuts its size to 5G) and the above link will no longer work. So I'll just leave it here:

I can confirm the camera pitch movement issue. Using Win 10 here.

17.11.2016 - Installer not fixed yet.

But I can also confirm, that the posted registry fix from andreas1202 has solved this issue.
Hi, all!
I just experienced the issue with the camera movement and was looking for a fix and eventually ended up here.
The file provided by andreas1202 is no longer available, but the newcomers to the topic should know the file is available here: eicheats.gipat.ru/eng/files.html. Here is a direct link to it: eicheats.gipat.ru/pub/ei_fulleye.reg
Rather amazing that we need to mess around with the registry to get the game to work properly, nearly 1 year after the problem was first reported. GOG really needs to get on this.
