When I crash in a random place, but don't get enough damage to be out and to see the rewind screen automatically, I am forced to restart the entire race. I looked at the controls to see if there's a Rewind button, but haven't found one. All I found was a "Replay" option (triggered by Back on a GamePad), but when I tried to use a Retry there, I only got to the main menu.

Is the option there, but I didn't manage to find it, or is it only possible to rewind after you crash badly?

You are almost there. It took me a little while to figure it out too.

With a gamepad, when you want to rewind for whatever reason (spinning off, crashing, etc), press the back button to bring up the menu and choose Instant Replay. The game will then replay the last 10 seconds and you can fast-forward or rewind through those few moments. When you get to the time where you want to re-take control (this is called Flashback), press the X button on your gamepad. You can only re-take control a limited number of times, though, dependent on the race difficulty setting, and you get a bonus the fewer times you use it in a race.

If you don't have a gamepad then pressing Enter triggers the instant replay. You then use the F-keys to control fast-forward, rewind, camera, etc. F12 is used for the Flashback feature to re-take control from that point.

Hope this helps. :)
Awesome, thanks! Apparently I did something wrong and that's why the Flashback didn't trigger properly. I'll try it out and hopefully it'll work.

Thanks again!
