I'm running Ubuntu 16.04, installed the game just by running the .sh installer.

When running the game in full screen I can only see a part of the game, I'm on a native resolution of 1080p. I believe the game is 320x200 or something? In full screen it looks like the screen is divided in 4 times 320x200 and I'm seeing the most upperleft part of the 320x200 section..

Editting through the ags-setup-64 I can make a windowed mode working, does anyone know of a solution for full screen though?
Just installed it to test something now, on Mint 18, and it works full screen just fine. Admittedly, on 32-bit and my resolution is 1280x1024, so I set the graphics filter to 4x for 1280x800. In your case I'm thinking you'll want 5x, for 1600x1000, since 6x would be 1920x1200.
I'm on Linux, Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS

My game wont launch at all in full screen mode, no matter what options I change.

I can run it windowed right off the bat no problem, but I'm kinda picky about playing games in full screen.

A fix would be nice!

It seems to work for me, but I seem to have forgotten to write down why. It's been a while since I messed with this, but I believe I fixed this by just using ags directly, installed using gentoo gamerlay games-engines/ags-3.3.5.7. If you can't find an Ubuntu package, I found build instructions on the first google hit for "ags debian ubuntu".
