Is the wraith appearing yet? It may still be too early in the day for it.
Try waiting until it gets darker, then leave the screen and return.
When the wraith appears, you have to kill it.

If you're sure it's almost midnight, could you already have collected it, so it's already in your Inventory?
Do you have any of the other ritual scrolls?

Maybe the wraith won't show up for a wizard.

The wraith is there for a wizard, they just don't drop the scroll.

Silly question, but is it possible you've already killed them?

read somewhere the faries have the scroll for the wizard, from the leshy walk right once, down twice, then left...
