I am planning to do another run through of the entire series, but a previous question asked in this forum reminded me of something.

Which rites are not required to be completed? I remember when I originally played this game going underwater, however the last time I played Dragon Fire, I never received the rite for that particular portion of the game. Just wondering if I ran into a bug, on that playthrough. I've only played through QFG5 a couple of times, compared to the multiple times of 1,2 and 4.

I would guess Freedom, Destiny, and Courage. For those rites, I think you can let time pass and wait until someone else wins them.

I have been waiting to see if this is true for so long. If someone can confirm this, I would be very, very grateful. I'm too busy working on the other games speedruns to go and do a proper Any% of this game yet. LOL

I think you still need to do Courage, even if Elsa does it first. After all, you need to go there to get a certain key item for later.

-Putting my two pence in to name QFG5's glitchless any% "heartless any%", because I already know what'll be faster.

LOL - nice
Not sure about the 'legit' way, so this will not fully answer the question.
However, I have edited the game for the magnet to teleport me into the hall of kings.

The outcome is that it's technically possible not to complete the rites of :
- #1 Freedom (Gort is declared winner)
- #2 Conquest (Elsa is declared winner)
- #3 Valor (Gort is declared winner). If I remember correctly, you can also make Elsa win in a legit way
- #4 Destiny (Elsa is declared winner)

#5 For the rite of Courage, If I teleport into the hall of king without having the Styx water: the game crashes
#6 For the rite of Peace, you are declared winner even if you're not holding the Peace statue (However, you do not 'unlock' the achievement of winning the rite #6)

This is all very interesting information. Hmmm.... now we need to know if the rituals can be bypassed.
