I'm trying to get the ending with marrying katrina but she won't except the ring. I'm playing a wizard and gave her the gifts and talked to her till my toon was blue in the face. I've followed Cyric's guide (even restarted because it says I should talk to her immediately walk out then talk again) but just can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Katrina is very hard to woo... The first question to ask does the game have the latest patches? In the original release there was a bug that made marrying her impossible.

Secondly she won't marry you if you have lockpicking skill.

No lock picking on the toon but wasn't sure if I needed to patch from GoG. Was kind of hoping everything came prepatched.

Oh, and she is also finicky and jealous.

If you flirted or gave gifts to any other girl, she might turn you down as well...

She should be the only girl focused on... Although after getting her hand, its possible to go after Elsa and Nawar as well.

I talked to Nawar but didn't flirt. May as well test the patch on this. Where can I get it?

Ahh, well I don't know at the moment. But I'm not sure I'd recommend trying to install the patch over the game... It might overwrite GOG's no-cd solutions?

Flirting with Budar might cause problems too (even though she is not marriable)?

Bugger I tried to install patch 1.2 because I saw the version was 1.1 and it caused the game not to load properly. fortunately I was able to reinstall with all my previous saves intact. Who is Budar any way? Don't remember her.

DAMN IT! Ok here is the deal I finally found a video on youtube for whats wrong. Even though she refuses your ring and says she needs time your deeds tally will tell you whether or not she actually accepted. Bloody annoying since if she tells you in plain english she didn't accept you should have no reason to think she did.

Hmmm, it sounds like GOG needs to update their download to include the patch 1.2 plus make it work properly. That patch is important for a number of bugs.

As for the actual fully updated game, I seem to recalling that if things go right she should accept like pretty much everyone else, and flat out tell you. It influences later conversations with her, IIRC, and how she acts in the final battle.

Budar is the overweight women in the Dead Parrot, the one that is near Nawar.

Dragon Fire is definitely on the 1.0 version. The old text mistake in Nawar's description and the lack of rocks at Pegasus Peaks confirm it.

This is annoying. Having gone through the series once as a Paladin, I started over as a wizard and had gotten to QFG4 before life kicked in and had to put that on hold. Glad I had, because otherwise I would have been pulling my hair out. I sincerely hope that GOG gets on this ASAP... I was able to swallow some games having missing documentation, but this is flat out inexcusable.

And yet, funnily enough, hovering the cursor over the actual .exe file shows that it is version 1.1. Perhaps there is something I am missing here?

Apparently I do still have the 1.2 patch executable sitting around in an old archive folder, but since it's a Win95 executable and definitely not written to work with the GoG version of the game, I doubt that it would work as-is. I don't feel comfortable mailing it around at random, but if one of the GoG developers wants it, I'd be willing to send it to them.
