I can find no mention of this anywhere on the internet, which leads me to believe that I am doing something wrong. But when I play dag nab it, and it ends in a tie, the chief asks for double or nothing, but then the game just stays there. I don't get the option to say yes, the daggers don't respawn... nothing. I reload my game and swear a little.

Anyone else with this problem?

I remember the double or nothing part, though haven't tested it with GOG.com version, but I think that you can just say "double" or "nothing" after the chief asks you. You should be able to type it, even if the cursor is the "No action" one. Did you try typing and you couldn't, or were you expecting a prompt to do so?

Hm, no idea, though I can try it later today (about the same time as the conference). I'll post here any findings, unless of course someone else answers first. Still, can't you use any interaction? No cursor change possible with right click, no menu item available?
No other idea atm :(

The game isn't technically hung. I can still change the cursor to anything I like (except walk). I can access all the usual menus. I just can't find an option to accept the challenge or exit. Spamming mouse events resulted in a crash. Pressing every key on the keyboard resulted in nothing.

Talk cursor near bottom of screen (talk self), or hand cursor in the dagger/target area? Dagger cursor to target? Money pouch to area?
One of these should probably work, can't recall atm how you start Dag-Nab-It, but I think it was by using the money pouch to the chief?

Thanks for the help Mich. I finally figured out how to play the game, so I win every time now, and I have moved on to the second game. But I'm pretty sure that I tried all of those things without any success.

Apologies for not replying yesterday, didn't really have the time to play (especially since I'd have to start from the beginning). When I do get around to it, I will update it, so at least the next one with this problem will have an answer.
