"One or more accounts failed to sign in to multiplayer" is the message I get when I try to connect to online multiplayer. I also can't directly connect to any Quake 2 servers. Assuming this is because enhanced is incompatible with original Q2 multiplayer servers?

do you have the latest beta from gog galaxy? for me it helped to download the latest version

Yes, all my games are automatically kept up to date.

I would download manually the latest installer from gog on the web. Hope this helps.
I had the issue, that GOG could not update itself since beginning of this year. With the outdated build I was kept out from the multiplayer as well.

On doomworld I have read, that the GOG client should contain some beta version. See here:

Updating to Beta worked, but multiplayer still doesn't work.
