Hi,

I am running Quake 2 on win 10 and everything works perfectly but after the big gun evacuation it loads the video and then crashes with the message "its not working properly and is therefore closed". I tried changing the NVIDIA controls to always use NVIDIA, changed the gl-driver to siftware ... but it still does not change and I can't get to the next part.

Any ideas ?
Thanks!

Have you tried latest [unnoficial] patch ver. 3.24 by Knightmare? If not, try it. It's 32 bit, but it worked fine for my 64bit Win7 (except for 1 bug in Quake 2 base game). Just that you know after the ending cutscene you should see Quake II logo with "The End" writing, there are no credits or anything else. Credits can be accessed through a game menu at any time.
Please note that you'll need to move folder "music" into folder "baseq2" to hear it.

Just tried this solution, and now the game says my saved games are from older version and refuses to load them :/

EDIT: It appears that my quake is version 3.19. After completing the big gun I waited a bit longer on explosion animation, then opened console, closed the console, pressed enter and somehow it worked. I proceeded to the next level.

Finally. With this the game stopped crashing. Only there is no music anymore, despite having the files :-/
Where are located musics in your Quake II folder?

I have it in \Quake II\baseq2\music and are working fine

also check if these can or not loop

I know that there are some source ports but i don't know if these can fix loop's problem
