Bethesda just announced a big update to Quake. But the FAQ only mentions Bethesda Launcher/Steam/Microsoft Store as eligible for the free upgrade. Are there any plans to release Quake Enhance on GOG as well?

Yeah, and are the owners of Quake: The Offering included as well?
Keep the original in gog please, this remaster is so shitty, not worth it.
Yeah if they add it to GOG I hope its as a separate entity that doesn't replace The Offering version like it did on Steam
Will never happen here

You can still play the og version on Steam. This update adds the enhanced version but you can choose which one to play on launch.

As mentioned in the Steam listing for Quake:
Get the “original” and “enhanced” Versions
Play whichever version of Quake you prefer. Ownership of Quake gives you access to Quake (Original), the fully-moddable, untouched version of the game that has been available for years , and Quake (Enhanced), the recently released version of the game with improved visuals, curated add-ons, enhanced multiplayer support, crossplay, controller support, and more.

Let's hope this is just a small delay for us GoG customers. I'm a bit bored of jumping around threads of games-that-didn't-got-the-latest-update.

Specially coming from companies like Bethesda.

The remaster is not shitty.

Also, if they handle it like they did on Steam, you'll keep the original and have the remaster.

yep, steam keeps the original files and "rerelease" in a separate folder
The Unity Ports of Doom/Doom 2 never came so Quake will probably also skip GoG. You need a Bethesda Account to play multiplayer and use the Addon feature after all.
If we don't get this remaster at least we still have Quakespasm for ultrawide support and mods for everything you can imagine. I don't recommend buying the Steam version just for the stuff they've added.

I really want to check out that new MachineGames episode so fingers crossed.
disregard the remaster, the new addon isnt worth it, and quakespam spiked offers a superior experience.
It sucks but GOG is basically always overlooked by these bigger publishers, maybe in a year or two we'll get this. We just now got Quake 2 RTX.

Yeah, but we are left out of the new campaign (Dimension of the machine).

Not that I was going to play the game in what seems to be a data-gathering "remaster" sourceport, but hey, its not really nice to leave us from the "free" new content.
