I'm running Yamagi Quake II, V. 8.00 on OS 12.5. So far it's been running beautifully, but I've hit a snag in The Warehouse: In the water-filled area with all the shark things, there are 2 blocks on tracks that are supposed to move back and forth, but they don't move at ALL. They make the clanking noise, but are stuck in place, preventing me from getting to the alcove with the button I need to push.

I was able to (ONCE) rocket-jump over to the block closest to the alcove, and get up to push the button. What's SUPPOSED to happen is that both blocks move over to the wall, then start going up and down to allow me to get up to a higher area in order to progress. What DID happen is that one moved over to the wall (the other was already there,) and then both sat motionless, still making the clanking sound. I've tried re-entering the level from scratch, but that didn't do anything, and nothing I've tried in-game (explosives, jumping, swearing, etc.) has any effect, either.

Has anyone encountered this or similar problems before? I love the mission pack so far, and I'd really hate to not be able to finish it.

It's not available for my OS yet.
I didnt find MacOS links on Yamagi at all... welll, or ve-e-ery outdated builds. Which one version is latest one and what is a proper link to it\how to get that link?

it is kinda offtop.

8.00 is from 2021, don't know if that counts as ve-e-ery outdated: https://deponie.yamagi.org/quake2/osx/?C=M&O=D

I'm noticing some other issues that might be part of the problem, such as new things not spawning (e.g., "monster_gekk doesn't have a spawn function" - I *thought* "Hard" was a little easier than it should be!) so I'm trying to track down how to do a better install, or something, to get things as they should be.

[EDIT] I installed it into a Wine wrapper, and so far it's working fine, at least as far as things spawning that are supposed to be there. I'd prefer to figure out how to make it run on Yamagi, eventually.

That can happen if addon not started properly (-game /xatrix or how it should be?), but issues should appear earlier. So looks like Yamagi issue.

I forgot what is the case with yamagi mac links. Now look to link and remeber. is 8.0 Mac build an x64 application? Win builds switch to x64, and that clearly stated on yamagi website and downloaded archives. But i dont see such statement for current MacOS info and dowanloaded files. Although some older builds are marked x64.

It still offtop...
but maybe also on-topic. Maybe yamagi no more a good port for macOS...?

Quake 2 mods are operating system shared libraries, so you were probably running the expansion pack with the new engine and it was incompatible with whatever was in your expansion pack directory (probably just the windows .dll).

Try finding the Reckoning compiled for your yamagi/mac os x combination, it should work then.
yes, wrong client_xxx. dll\so is also make sense why this is happened. But issues should appear on at least second map (if not very first one?).

For Windows there is additional downloads for expansions. And since not clear where best to download main source port (MacOSX half-suppoerted), there is less clearense where to download proper addons client library files.
Maybe some files from linux version can help (hmm maybe some useful info on github).

And if yamagi sites\links not help you, try at least this fork
http://github.com/MacSourcePorts/yquake2
it is at least 8.10. There is no addons there as i understand - and that probably can lead to a problems. Looks like same way you get 8.0 from one source and addons from other. But maybe your pre-compiled addons is for 8.10. Here it at least 8.10 - to just try it. Since you already faced issues.

Well, or restart OS
reinstall YamagiQ2 8.0 dmg.
re-start game and level
