Want to play with Xbox 360 controller in proper way?
Want to get rid of annoying keyboard and mouse buttons in-game and want to see Xbox 360 controller buttons?
Or you dont have xbxo 360 controller and simply want your numeric gamepad buttons appear instead of keyboard and mouse?

OK guys, since you are so impatient, i did a LITE version of patch which should work just double fine.
All advanced things (such as xbox 360 controller support for previous v1.04 of game, customizable configs, DI FFD, detection of all stuff, etc) was removed, and only profile and icon patching was left.

Download and enjoy, and dont forget to report about noticed bugs

Usage is pretty simple - run installer, select Psychonauts folder, install, enjoy. If you will create new profie, you will need to reapply patch, just run installed PsychoPadLite.exe from Psychonauts folder and enjoy updated profiles with proper x 360 controller ui))

Note: game has xbox original buttons for UI, but no LB and RB, ugly edges because of DXT compression and annoying animation - this was fixed and included both in lite and full versions

Meanwhile ill keep working on full version...
Im not quite finished this and need more Three-headed monkeys... i mean testers in my secret laboratory, to put my experiments on, before i can go with public release of full version.
Have 2 extra monkey heads?
Have Xinput-class gamepad or normal Dinput pad?
Finished game and have saves in different points of games?
You are not a lame-monkey and know how to disable UAC and what is false positive?

PsyhoPad Lite updated to v1.1

v1.1 Highlights:

+Removed GUI to fix misleading out of sync messages about patching state that could stay forever despite patching already finished
+Added external config files "PsychoIco.ini" and "PsychoMap.ini" for tweaking of bindings prior patching
+Minor cosmetic and logic improvements such as indication of current step of patching

What's the difference between the Lite and full version that you still working on? And significance change? Will it be compatible if i already had Lite version installed?

Full version works with old retail and non steam dd versions, which do not support Xinput xusb controllers - it have quite different mapping and additionally it adds proper xinput support for game to fix LT and RT (well sort of, game reads every button but LT & RT via dinput and Psychopad reads LT and RT via xinput to fix issue), also there is smarter installer which detects versions and other things to make everything works double fine))

Generally Lite version if a quick cut off all the things i did before patch to add proper xbox 360 controller support, with only gui patching.

Atm im quite busy and full version seems not very necessary for people, since lite works just fine with latest game versions... but for those who prefer old balance of Meat circus, no crashes, no gfx glitches and EAX\OpenAL + HW sound support (which was removed with update - i hope next patch will return it back!) - full version may still come handy.

Great job! I haven't tried your unofficial patch yet, but I'm worried about all the graphical glitches I've read about. It would be good to see a full version that supports the original GOG.com release.

Also, is the Widescreen FMV fix coming soon?

I'm using Pinnacle Game Profiler and found a profile for this game on their site.

Working awesome now with the xbox 360 controller..

No matter how many times I install and reinstall, it's simply not showing the icons. It also takes a very long time to install.

I installed your patch and the new icons show up in the game, but my controller does not work correctly. The correct buttons don't work, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Yeah, I get this too.

EDIT... actually the dialogue box, for me, closed after 10-15 mins of waiting and after that the pad works fine.

My installation got stuck on "patching icons" [step 85], any idea how to fix this? edit: nvm i think all icon are present in the game
