Matewis: Thought with "this game" you meant Project Zomboid :) But yea, on the types I've visited PZ's forums I got the impression that there were lots of issues with the multiplayer.
Lin545: Yes, this is what I meant. Dont Starve (GOG) = no multiplayer, PZ (GOG) = complete multiplayer (without Galaxy). The only multiplayer in Don't Starve is "DST" and "DST" is steam-only.
I played a bit in Zomboid multiplayer and it was quite interesting. There was a lot of drama around good vs bad vs crazy players. Some bases got lit up, surviving winter in the woods with a pal. It was fun, I am thinking about renting a server actually at some point.

Matewis: how would sleeping work? Are there a designated 'bed time' for all players, or does it simply run realtime the whole day?
basically: - time is not stopped neither when you are offline, or online
- time accel controls are removed
- exhaustion is turned off
- if you are offline, then your character is also removed from the game.
- if are online, your character is returned to exact place where you left.
the classic sleep does not exist:
- you can not sleep on existing furniture or beds
- if you craft your own furniture - you can "sleep".
When you "sleep" in own furniture, this happens:
- your hunger and drink requirements are drastically reduced
- you stay in-game, can be attacked etc
- you can't see anything (big black screen)
- you can exit "sleep" when you want
- in-game time is not affected at all
It works pretty well actually. You can go offline and your char won't be killed. You can sleep after you barricaded yourself somewhat - useful for the nights. Especially in winter, when crops grow slow and foraging for food is useless. You can also go offline, but that way your "survival timer" won't tick.
The only negative point so far is that whilst you are offline - and your crops will still flourish online and get spoiled. But this is easily avoided.
And your house can be overrun by zombies, looted out by enemy players or set on fire.
Its fun :)
