Are you all playing on nightmare difficulty?

nasKoo: Do you mean it's just not showing as a blue orb thingy or not showing up at all?

If you're using Galaxy, try restarting it. I can certainly select it from the web library

Vovchigus: There wasn't notification (blue orb) neither in Galaxy no on GOG.com.

When can we hope to see beta channel IWBUMS go live? Right now I can't see it in Galaxy settings(
We currently don't have a newer IWBUMS version, so there is nothing to upload right now :)

No, just regular "survival" from the menu.

A nightmare would be if you set zombies to "fast" and items to "very low".
Getting bitten would be on daily roster...

Yeah, survival which is the 'way it's meant to be played' in a sense. As Lin545 says, running zombies such as something like in 28 Days Later are a nightmare :p
They run as fast as you and I don't think they get tired... it genuinely scares me haha.

edit: Your avatar threw me off. Thought I was talking to a complete stranger, my bad. I'm sure you know this stuff already.

Last week I installed the most recent build. Almost every time I start a new game (5 times out of 6 I'd say) my character doesn't have the keys to his house. Is this supposed to be an increase in game difficulty (which I don't approve as I think it's stupid if one doesn't have the keys to his own house) or is it a bug?

Interesting, never happened to me. Well, you can grab the knive or fork, break and clean the window glass with it.

I don't mean the keys to another house. I mean that before (whenever I spawned a new character) my character always had his keys (so that I could always lock the door whenever I left to scavenge).
Now I can't even lock the house where I start the game.
Is the House by the Lake north of Westpoint new? What about the cemetery? I swear I don't remember those.

The new prison area isn't turning out so good for me. It's a great addition but the nearest warehouses are too far and I can't get half of the shit I need. :P

AND if this thread is just about fixes let me know so I can stop derailing and move my stupid observations to a more appropriate place. :D

Yes, this is what I meant - keys from your own house. But, wait... you can lock the door?!... What for? Multiplayer?

I never thought its possible. I just barricade the doors with planks or (if lucky) build raw lumber walls around them, and then just sail down from second floor via rope through window.

Hmmm... I thought that zombies were able to open doors. I didn't know they couldn't . Strange, since they can climb through windows.
I always thought that locking doors was exactly to prevent zombies from entering the house.
Thanks for the explanation :)

Anyway, in the old versions, whenever I started a new game my character would always have his own keys. That's why I suspected it was a bug.

Shut door causes them to behave similarly to closed window, even if unlocked - bump their head until its broken. But against players... those usually carry axes or sledgehammers. Little use..

Are you folks working on an in-game map?

The only way I'd be interested in playing against other people is when (or if) NPCs can protect me. Or you know... just give me NPCs in single player, and I'm happy. Yes, I bought this game way back when it was 5 bucks directly to them and yes I miss the big dummies they had as NPCs back then :(
Yup! We're currently testing them in a IWBUMS build released yesterday.

We still need to figure something out in regards to putting beta builds up to GOG.
One thing that's a bit of a hassle is having to upload Linux builds manually via FTP, because the newer tools aren't available for Linux due to Galaxy not having a Linux client yet.
Another thing is that builds have to be manually approved by GOG so sometimes when one update would be approved, we'd have another one waiting to be approved already.

STOOPID question.
Someone told me they thought the knife "insta kill" was a bug and was in the process of being phased out.

Is this true?
