Okay I dont get it.
Why are some of the upgrades better then the other option.
For example I upgraded my minigun to be a mobile turret so I though: "Its gonna like the one from the doom 2016, right?"
Needles to say I was dissapointed. I feels also like it just shoots only when it feels like shooting.
Another problem was or example the flaregun and such.
For future reference what upgrades should I TAKE that DONT SUCK!?
Each upgrade is unique. Flaregun is not worse than Magnum, as its burn damage accumulate with each shot. Fire damage also skips damage phases on different monsters.

Turret on the other hand is a good addition to have a second gun firing at the same time. More DPS :)

Is there a way to switch upgrades if you have chosen one you really didn't like? Or do you have to start over? I like the nail gun as it bounces off walls which is very helpful, but I wanna try dual SMG's as well. I picked nailgun first as i knew a minigun would surface eventually but wanna still try out akimbo

We might add an option to re-spec 1 upgrade after a boss fight. But first we need to fix important stuff :)

The railgun upgrade for the laser gun makes it unusable. Even with 18 capacity stat, I didn't have enough ammo for it to kill anything. With railgun, it uses 10 ammo per shot, and at 18 capacity, you have less than 20 shots. It would have to oneshot every enemy in the game to be worth using at that point. Meanwhile, the game never lets you run out of rockets and the instant rocket upgrade makes it better than the railgun in almost every way. The game needs a weapon rebalance.

The dual SMGs is also an upgrade that makes the weapon worse, but SMGs need a buff in general (and the minigun needs a nerf. Even in turret form, it will kill every enemy nearly instantly with barely any ammo useage.)

Railgun is capable of doing some penetration, up to 5 monsters. It also deals very high direct damage. It is a "sniper rifle" so to say.
I'll do the following balance improvements:
- Akimbo SMG spread decrease
- Minigun damage and firerate decrease
- Railgun ammo consumption decrease
- Turret firerate decrease
- Lightning Staff maximum damage stack and stack speed decrease
- SMG Damage increase

Thanks. What about an option to respec? I just realize that I've been putting points into strength and I don't use melee attacks at all ugh lol

We'll add this feature in the next update, but it'll cost Upgrade points to respec the gun :)
Just the two I picked up and Im not dissapointed. I use turret when open to a new space or when i know I'll be ambused. Flare gun is just magnific to shoot and hide. I guess is more to do with the playstyle.
Im seeing that the upgrade points are a bit of issue for some ppl. Why not give ppl free option to chose the upgrades¿? rebalance the points needed and make magic have different points. Or give the option to test weapon before spending any point. Rework the space of the workshop and make a gun test zone.

And btw, probably this will need more work, but for those who rush the game and ended... and probably get bored fast, add new mode, like an arenas with infinite monsters and waves, with every wave or boss, they will drop points, and it will not have any restriction for upgrades. You can make it the way the first and second upgrade from a weapon be the primary and secondary fire. Like in unreal tournament all weapons.
Is there any reason why we should use upgrades like rapid fire laser gun and tripleshot crossbow?
yeah the upgrade stuff needs some tweaking but overall I'm enjoying the game. No real complaints. And the developers seems to be working on this game. This is the first time I've bought something through GOG on release. I feel it was the right decision. This is a very polished game for the most part and the shooting feels good.
Hey just noticed that the nailgun ricochets damage the player, while I am not against the idea of risk vs reward weapon its effectively made me never use the bloody thing.

In fact, the super sonic rocket launcher is by far the must brutal weapon in the game. You can have that with Sammoner spell and the perk that gives you mana per kill and you are unstopable.
