I started first level of campaign, reached few check points and then had to quit the game due to other things.
I back few hours later, choose continue and whole level is starting from the beginning.
I believed that check point auto saves the game.
I know it is early access, but is it how the game will be working?
Any time you have to quit the game, you must repeat a level from the beginning?

Also, next time, game started in window mode and I could not find full screen option in graphic settings, since scrolling is somehow not working in my case.
I found GameSettings.info config file, but can not see screen mode setting there.
At least I solved it by using Unity parameter -popupwindow in shortcut.
The only way I can get it to save properly is to quit game through the menus and it will save that way, and when you go back your progress will be there.

The game only saves between levels after the first level is completed.

Still in 2024 they haven't changed this. As an older guy playing this, I tend to play for 15 or 20 minutes and call it for the night. Without being able to save I still haven't made it past the first level. I finally just quit and uninstalled it. Too many other ones that are just as enjoyable and I can play for 20 min then save and pick it up later. It's like I'm stuck in the old Atari days where save games weren't a thing.

I've completed Prodeus several times, and am currently replaying it on the highest difficulty. I couldn't complete any level for longer than 20 minutes, even on Ultra Hard. So, to enjoy the game before going to bed - this time is enough for you to complete levels one by one. Of course, I don't insist, but you've missed a lot.

Tutorial Level even shorter... But you must complete tutorial level and sacrum (first level) to save progress.
