tinyE: I actually have two set up (40 beds each) but I'm using them for Minimum Security only! You'd be insane to try anything else.

B0SC0: Haven't had a chance to try them yet - Mini metro is taking up all my "15 minutes, let's do something constructive" moments. I'm glad to hear they brought in bunk beds though - I made the mistake early of thinking that if I put two beds in a room, multiple cons would habitate the room
The bunk beds are totally useless. You can't use them in Cells and when you put them in Dorms you still need 4 squares per person so for every one bunk bed you need 8 squares of space. You end up with this huge empty room and only three or four bunk beds.

From the sounds of it, it's perhaps still efficient to just build 2x3 cells

SHIT! I just got my new Death Row installed with the old update! Now I'm going to have to start over! :P

BTW, I put myself in the prison and immediately failed the 'spiritual enlightenment' program. Now that's what I call realistic! :D

How big are everyone's Visitation areas?

I've got three tables in mine, phones all over the prison, and a mail room, but these guys are still going nuts for Family.

I had to build a second one, which only reduced the family needs by like... 20%.. Do you have your phones located in the yard? That seems to make a difference.

Yeah I have phones everywhere and that helped a little. I have a spot for a larger Visitation picked out (where my Forestry is) but I'm holding off for a while. I managed to dramatically decrease my safety concerns but putting metal detectors EVERYWHERE and that has really cut back on the overall tension.
