I already have it on disk, but the soundtrack is super tempting. Is it the soundtrack that released simultaneously with the game, if not how much tracks are in it? Thanks!

It's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Original Soundtrack, 36 tracks by Stuart Chatwood.
And it's really worth to hear it :)

When I have some extra cash I will repurchase this on GOG to support the site and to get that soundtrack!

Bought the game, downloaded the soundtrack, and it's FUCKING AWESOME :-D
I didn't remember how good the music was when i first played it, maybe i was too focused on the action.
One thing leaves me a bit baffled though: I had a particularly fond memory of the song that played during the final credits: "Time only knows".
Naturally I found it in the soundtrack released by GOG, but the song fades 1.30 minutes in, when the lead singer is still singing, seems like an abrupt inteeruption O.o
Then, in the same song, there are at least 2 minutes of nothingness, and then another 30 seconds of another song thrown in!
Can anyone explain that? Or maybe it's the way the album was originally recorded and i'm getting it wrong? :-)

I already had several copies of the game on PC as well as one on PS2, but I had to get this for no other reason than to have a legit copy of the soundtrack which I can't find now for less than about $60 online

The song 36 from the original japanese release of the soundtrack had that silence, the music piece played at the end was intended to be a hidden track. The original lasts 3:46 min.
The new piece supplied by GOG now lasts 4:20 min 128kbit/s 44kHz opposed to the previous 192kbit/s 48kHz track :\ . Not criticizing here but you should include both versions in my opinion :P

The quality is undistinguishable with my Polish headphones ;). I feel the same though, although I definitely prefer listening to the unofficial 4:20 version (the official sample is way too short for such a great song), the original version should be there just for the good feeling of having something official completely complete. At the same time it is good to see that GOG folks really care for their audience, thanks!

I'm getting another problem with the soundtrack. Track 31, Reverse the Sands of Time, at about 1:45 in, there's about a second of grinding like noise that I don't hear anywhere else in the soundtrack. Has anyone else heard it?
I don't think it's my audio drivers because it only happens in that one place, and it also happens on my MP3 player, and in the car. I also re-downloaded the soundtrack to make sure I didn't get a corrupted download the first time, and it was still there.

Yes, you're right, I hear it too! At 1:44-1:46 there's indeed a weird noise. If you want a better quality version of the Soundtrack, you can also get it here : http://poplegacy.planets.gamespy.com/PoPSoTMusic.php, "Official Soundtrack" at the bottom ;) (you need a FilePlanet account though, a free one is enough)

I, too, have the same audio glitch. It's a weird mechanical noise that only lasts a second or so. Perhaps an artifact from the conversion process?

I have the retail version of the game and extracted the soundtrack.
But there are many short tracks (under one minute) without correct filenames.
Is the soundtrack from GOG better?
