Sadly, I haven't played any of the Sands of Time series (I know, I know...) but in response to the long rant about how it's closer to actual Persian mythology, I have to point out that, as true as that is, it's not close to the internal mythology of the games. The games are the Arabian Nights styled Persia, the fantastical Persia of glorious and beautiful cities rising from the sand, as bastions of not only might, but intellect as well. WW clashes too heavily with that.
Really that's the problem. If it was a seperate continuity, like the 2008 one, well, people would still complain, but it would be more acceptable, and easier to brush of their criticism of 'it's not Prince of Persia'.
Well, that's my opinion, at least. I hope it makes sense. And I will note that I would be plenty glad to see the game here, and I would probably buy it at some point.
