I'm running this on Windows 10. Whenever there's a load screen, it takes forever to load...even the animations on the load screen itself are slow. Once the game is actually loaded, however, it runs fine.
I am also experiencing this, 20+ minute loading screens running at about 3 frames per minute.
Has anything been found that causes this, something I can disable?

UPDATE : Enable V-Sync => Healthy Load Times

Huh; I hadn't been patient enough to figure out it wasn't just crashed. So, me too. Anyone find a fix? (I haven't yet tried basic compatibility options that Windows itself provides... ran out of time)
I've wondered the same thing. I wanted to play this but haven't because I don't have the patience to wait 20 minutes for it to load. The loading animations don't even happen for me it just sits still. Very annoying.

I managed to get the load times right down, after a bit of trial and error it looks like it is directly related to V-Sync.
When it is switched off it takes forever to load, switched on it is a couple of seconds.

I can't for the life of me recall if it was switched on at the point of installation, and we've unchecked it when going through the settings?

Either way :

I have the same problem as the OP.

A bit of playing found that using Task Manager to set the process affinity to a single processor allowed the load screen to continue. Once in the initial intro video I alt-tabbed out and reset the affinity to all processors.

[Bring up Task Manager. Right-click on "Prince of Persia.exe" and chose "Set affinity"]

Seems to work. Will update if I find a more permanent solution.

Note: Using the DARE.INI or V-Sync changes had no affect for me.
