I recently bought Prince of Persia (2008) during the big Ubisoft sale. I was pretty confident in my computer's ability to run the game, since it met the recommended system requirements. However, when I boot up the game, even with graphics set to low and HD textures disabled, it starts to constantly freeze for a few seconds at a time. I can get past the main menu just fine, but the problem starts up once the first cutscene begins, continuing when the gameplay starts. I've tried turning on V-Sync to no avail. Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit (Service Pack 1)

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8400 @2.26 GHz 2.27 GHz

8.00 GB of RAM

Have you tried setting the compatibility mode for the game to "Windows Xp"?
Right click on the game exe, select "Properties" then choose the "Compatibility" tab: there you can find the compatibility modes.

That said, the game seems to be affected by slowness and choppiness if run on an nVidia with latest drivers.
I'll try that. Thanks for responding!
Since I have same issue with the game, it freezes with either options, low or high settings, HD textures enbled or disabled, AA off or 2x 4x and 8x this just freezes for seconds and very constantly. While moving camera or by just running without moving it. Tried with and w/o GoG Galaxy Client.

I tried running the game in Compatibility Mode and still the problem persists.

Specs guess are ok for the game.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
Phenom x6 1055T @3.2GHz Auto Clocking (default is 2.8)
8Gb RAM Corsair
7970 3Gb Vram Dual X Sapphire
SSHD Seagate FireCuda 7200RPM TB
MoBo Asus M4A77T
Drivers Radeon Software Crimson 16.9.1
Also I'm using a DS3 Controller through SCP Driver Package 1.0.0.103.

Pretty much everything is updated to the latest software, bios etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

edit: Tested with Kb/M config still same problem persists, I thought that maybe the controller is the problem.

Sounds like what happened to me, too.

"Vertical Sync" should be activated to avoid freezing
