Not sure whether it really crashes or not, as it was perhaps intended to behave like that, hence my question mark.

During the ending in which you refuse to join MetroMind, all I get is a close-up of Horatio holding and charging up a gun, then a zoom in on Scraper's "eyes"/lights/lenses/whatever, and my game just closes and reverts to the desktop. I'm not sure if it was intended, is it some kind of ultimate in-game reference to the fact you "failed"? Scraper and/or MetroMind say nothing to Horatio, he says nothing to them, all I get is that last Scraper close-up, then it's desktop land, no game credits, nothing. If this is, as I suspect, indeed a crash/malfunction/bug, is there any way for me to solve it? I definitely don't want to watch a video with the ending, as I hold my Primordia experience into a very high account, and I want to have the experience of seeing whatever endings there are to see by myself, so, if it is, indeed, a crash, please let me know if there's any way to fix it.

Thanks in advance!

I get the same.
I think is intended.

Actually, right after posting this question, I went and retried it, just to see if I was forgetting to mention something, and, for the first time, I got a single line of text by MetroMind, then the game crashed and I got an error message, saying that if the error persisted I should discuss it over at AGS forums... so, it's definitely not intended to crash like that. Still, if anyone over here has any idea on how to fix this, it would save me a lot of time, since I still had to create an AGS forum account, post the question and wait for someone to answer it...

It's not supposed to crash. I've alerted the publisher and the coder. We'll see what we can do. In the meanwhile, I can point you to a video of the ending if you'd like to see it. Sorry for the crash -- I'm not sure I've seen it reported elsewhere, though I have some vague recollection of it cropping up sometime in the past.
Thanks, Mark, I really appreciate it!

Somehow, I knew it wasn't supposed to behave like that. I'll wait for developments on your end, then.

By the way, thank you so very much for arguably the best game I've played recently.

[EDIT] I've attached the error message, in case it is of any help.

Out of curiosity, have you tried (and if not, do you mind trying) using winsetup.exe to change your graphics mode to DirectDraw?

And thanks for the very nice comments about the game! I certainly appreciate them!
Thank you, that sure did it! Just tried it, everything worked perfectly.

Oddly enough, with all the time I spent meddling with winsetup.exe, it never occurred to me to change the graphics driver from Direct3D to DirectDraw... and it would've been so simple!

Once again, I can't thank you enough for the game and, now, for helping me solve this (as it turns out) minor issue.
Well, thanks for alerting us to it -- hopefully we can find a permanent fix, since we default people to using D3D. :D

In any case, your thanks are much appreciated, and I'm glad the game's now working as it should!

--EDIT--

I chatted with the coder (who was on furlough from his military service in Greece), and in his view the crash was being caused by some incompatibility between D3D and AGS (i.e., the engine in which Primordia was built), and isn't something that can be fixed at our level. We're going to keep looking into it, but for now the only fix is to switch to DDraw.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention!
