Hello,

I've just started playing Primordia and found out, that basically keyboard doesn't work at all. I can't use shortcuts nor even create a new save game (since I can't type it's name), so I only save rewriting the "autosave".

Is there a solution? I may run the windows version under Parallels if needed... but I don't know if moving the saved game from Mac to Win will work?

Never heard of this issue. Do you mind checking with GOG technical support? GOG developed the Mac front-end, not us, so I don't know anything about how it works. That said, because it's a front-end, saves from the Mac version should work fine on the PC version, and vice versa.

Sorry you're having trouble with it. Let me know if GOG is unable to help. If so, I'll dig in more. In the meanwhile, have a great New Year!

3 years later, I'm having the same issue... blerg :(

Have you tried contacting GOG? I'm not really sure what steps I can take, not being able to test the Mac version and since our coder didn't work on GOG's frontend. I can contact them myself if they're unresponsive, but it's probably quickest for you to take first try?

Thanks for the reply, wasn't expecting one! I know you can't really help given that y'all didn't make the Mac version, I'll either contact GOG or I also might just dig out my old PC and play there. Appreciate the reply anyway. Primordia so far has been excellent, I just got to Metropol and realized I could type in the info kiosk and I can't wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds.

Wait, you can type into the kiosk, but nowhere else? How weird!

Glad you're enjoying the game. :)

Ah no, meant to say I *couldn't* type into the kiosk and that's when I figured out the problem. I ended up running Linux on my mac and playing that version through. Really great game! Grew up on this type of game so it was very nostalgic, but it's better than I remember those games being in terms of story, dialogue, humor, music, artwork, setting... basically everything haha. Loved it. anyway, thanks!

Awesome! Glad you were able to finish it, and that you liked it so much! It means a ton to us to hear things like that.

When you bought the game here on GOG you also purchased GOG support for said game. No reason not to use it. Though typical response time is two business days so I guess it was faster to just play the Linux version.
I had a chance to test this today on an older iMac running 10.6.8. While downloading the current version I installed using the older primordia_2.0.0.6.dmg and had no issues typing. Then deleted it and installed with primordia_2.0.0.7.dmg. Typing no longer worked. I did notice that the setting was switched from Direct3D 9 to DirectDraw 5 in the 2.0.0.7.dmg installer. Changing it back to Direct3D 9 and the keyboard starting working again.

Thanks so much for solving this problem, Gydion (struggling not to write Gwydion). I'm sure it'll crop up for other users, and now I have an answer for them!

At the time at least it was taken. I've gotten used to it by now. Cheers.

GOG support was going to be my next stop, but I was impatient :) Thanks for the solution though!! Much appreciated.
