It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I had trouble getting save/load to work, until I experimented a little. It seems that, despite the actual drive where you installed the game, Populous thinks the folder where the game is installed is "C:\". So for example, I have the game installed at G:\Games\Populous. So that "folder" is considered "C:\" by Populous. And despite the "look" of the save/load window, it is not a 'browser', so you can't actually see the names of any previous saves you may have created... you just have to memorize their names!

Thankfully, once you load/save a game, for the rest or that session Populous will remember and use that name automatically. You can ALT-ENTER to minimize the game window, and bring up a File Browser if you want to look at your savegame filenames.

Did I miss anything?

Yes, that's how DOSBox works.
Mh, do you know how can I spell the name of the save? I don't know how to do that :s
Where do you actually save in the game? Can't figure it out.

You need to click that "Earth" icon in the bottom-right corner of the main game window. The "Save" option is the second menu item in the bottom menu

I know how to save a game, and have saved and loaded several times. But you cannot see a list of saved games. So if I can't remember the name of my last saved game, how do I find it? I'm guessing it is somewhere in the file "populous.gam", which I tried opening with a document viewer, but that proved to be ... unhelpful.

For me they are turning up as separate .GAM files in my games path \Populous\cloud_saves\ I made one save for the Tutorial and one for the Conquest and seem to be able to switch between them, I see 2 files, so I don't think there is a "list" I think it's separate files.

What people said above about C:\ holds, changing the drive letter doesn't do anything, DOSBox is locked down to the install dir it seems.
