Hi podies!

Well, all we know he dgVoodoo that's fine.

-But it are less accurate on the colorkeying method
-The gamma correction don't match correctly with the vodoo cards
-With dgVodoo you can play with higher resolutions, but the mouse cursor into the game menu are enclosed in a small area (640x480 rectangle I suppose).

So, I find a very good and excelent glidewrapper for pod. This are nGlide wrapper: http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide

It's completly free, and it have an excelent emulation of 3Dfx Voodoo cards.

The render match exactly on the colorkeying method of the Voodoo cards
The gamma correction now match correctly
You can play with hi res configurations, and mouse match perfectly into the game menu.

Now, I recommend this configuration for your nGlide installation (attached image).

And well, nothing its perfect: If you're encountering grSstWinOpen error, rename the 'ir41_32.dll' file from windows system directory.

That's all folks!

There is no need to remove/rename the Intel Indeo Video Codec library. PodHacks automatically detects the current version of nGlide and hacks the video codec detection in the game at run-time.

PodHacks also prohibits POD from confining the cursor to the window area by default.

Using alternate Glide wrappers with the GOG release of POD Gold requires PodHacks anyway (because the CD checks, CD audio, and CPU detection are patched at run-time by the glide wrapper included in the release).

Has any one try to run POD gold (gog) on a real voodoo 3dfx card in glide?
I still have my old 3dfx system with windows 98se :)

Thx

Works only with PodHacks (because the included Glide wrapper contains the run-time patches).
Well, of course you have to delete/rename the glide2x.dll inside the POD directory.

You might have to add "vidc.IV41=ir41_32.dll" to the [drivers32] section in the %windir%\system.ini to get the videos working.

Thanks for the fast reply, I'm going to buy POD today and run it with a glide wrapper for now. Thanks on posting the steps needed to get it to work. I will also do my best to get it to run on my old 3dfx system when I find the time. POD was a game I was looking for for a very long time! I'm happy that GOG is selling it. Thanks again!
I've just tried nGlide with Pod GoG version and PodHacks. I got some car texture issues (Arc texture on all the cars) and the result isn't better than with DGVoodoo.
I was hoping to fix my input lag/game speed issues with this... false hopes ! :/
