Can't say I'm impressed with this release. First game GoG I bought and played (though I've been browsing the site for a long time) and it is actually quite tedious.

The game is generally sluggish, slow, especially when I'm in the Hive. Then I get random crashes here and there, constant crashes on exit. Meh. Boring, annoying, slow.

If "works with Windows 7" wasn't written, I would not complain, but as it stands now, it seems GoG rushed this release to have "ZOMG ONE MORE INFINITE ENGINE GAME". And I'm stuck here, not enjoying what is supposed to be one of the best RPG's ever made.

dmso12: I hate to say this but I reproduced the bug using the Gog version :/ Exactly what happens, it tries to boot up the next section and it dumps me to the desktop. It was leaving the Mortuary through the portal. However, I will say that I wasn't able to reproduce it thereafter. I don't know what to say.
The same thing happened to me. Have used the Mortuary portal a few times since, without crashing. I'll just save before transitions(I hope, anyway).

EDIT: My OS is XP Sp3 on a C2D with an 9800GT, if that matters.

I'm getting random crashes on win7 32 and it's pretty annoying. And yes, Windows always asks me if I want to quit the program so it must still be running.
Add me to the list of those frustrated with this problem :(

Random crashes seem to occur upon entering new locations in game ever since entering the Hive - crashes to desktop.

Running PST on my ancient laptop with all the recommended mods installed (to recommended specifications) prior to starting up the game.
Windows XP
Service Pack 3
Intel Pentium M processor 2.00GHz
2046MB RAM
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X700 build in graphics card

Please tell me that someone can find a fix to this...
Really enjoying the game & this is starting to mar the experience.

I was having issues getting out of the mortuary. This seems to have worked for me. Atleast for now the game seems OK. Thanks.
I own the two disc version, and I was having the same difficulties. After some research, I found the solution was to re-install the game to a directory other than "Program Files." I did so, installing to C:\Torment, and have not had an issue since. Does this work for anybody else?
I get crashes randomly upon trying to enter another area.

I also get crashes randomly when trying to enter to another area. Mine ones though are sporadic, so i can live with them.

Still, for the ONLY GOG.com game i currently have, it dissapoints a bit.

SS: C2D, 7 x64, 8600gt.

EDIT: In my game happens too that when someone casts a spell, the screen goes all blurry and it almost hangs for a second before resuming fine.

Yes, I expected better much QA than this. I'd like to know what they changed from the disc version, if anything.
Sounds silly but try installing the game like this
C:\Planescape Torment
then install all the mods mentioned on GOG.com
i was crashing after about 1-2 minutes now seems very stable (tested 3 times)

running at 1600x900 resolution

I used a program to allow me to save the Windows error report. I've contacted GOG about the issue and asked if they want me to send them the information. We'll see what happens...

Edit, more than a week later: Well, they never got back to me. That says to me they don't care.

Goodbye forever, GOG. If you don't take any pride in your work, you aren't worth my time or money.

I am running XP on an old machine as well I set up all the mods and I am getting crashes when I enter buildings. Is there a fix for this? Or am I doing something wrong? This is my first GOG game and I also bought baldur's gate 1 and 2 and am excited to play but if it's crashy it's not reallly worth it to me
For people having issues with crashes on Win7 I suggest trying D3D windower. I originally got it to fix lag I was getting in the hive but it helped with CTD issues too. It made the game a lot more stable for me. Word of warning, Ad Aware thinks it's malware but it's not.

I recently grabbed PS:T and have been playing around with it a little. I can also report that I have had some crashing issues, mostly when quitting the game. Last night however I was in The Hive and entered a room, only to have the game crash out on me.

It would be great to get these things fixed up somehow.

Hi!. In my case, the game crashed after entering the portal next to Deionarra in the mortuary. I edited the torment.ini file with the above settings and it worked for me, except that the game became soooo sluggish...

But editing only the first line, and leaving all disabled, the game runs OK and without crashes.

Translucent Shadows=0
SoftSrcKeyBltFast=0
SoftBltFast=0
SoftSrcKeyBlt=0
SoftBlt=0
SoftMirrorBlt=0

Note: Most of the above options can be enabled/disabled from the Video Options menu within the game, so you can check how they affect to the performance.

Note 2: I'm running Windwos 7 x64 Ultimate Edition with an ATI Radeon HD5770.

Note 3: Merry Xmas Everyone !!!
