I just got the mods installed and started playing for the first time. No technical issues so far other than an error when I quit the game which doesn't seem to do much but I have quite low performance. I don't know if it's the game or something I can do.

I play with 1080p which could be the reason but I don't know. Windows 7, 64-bit, Quad core, GTX470, 296.10 whql drivers ,4GB ram. I run in admin but I haven't tried compatibility mode for XP if that's needed.

It usually goes between 30-40FPS I think and while it's not too harmful I'm someone who prefers as good performance as I can tweak so if there's anything that can be done please do tell.

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't know that the torment.ini had a default limit to 40FPS and I think I read somewhere it could help turning of transparent shadows so I did that as well.

EDIT2: Damnit, it still lags from time to time. Is there anything else that can be done? I think I read somewhere you could turn off all those hardware acceleration like in video settings there's three software rendering of different types. However, what impact does that do on graphics and hopefully not stability?

Also, with both my headset and my speakers there's this very distinct noise, is there some way to reduce or eliminate it?

Sadly, the game just randomly crashes to Desktop after I've been through the steps in this thread :(
There's a replacement for the poor quality portraits here that people might like.

Just tried it and it worked perfectly. It may need a google account to access the download site though.
Doesn't matter

Just tried the link and it works fine. You need a google account for it to work. The link brought up a login page for google and after putting in account name and password, the file downloaded fine.
I installed everything according to the guide (except Unfinished Business and the Tweak Pack) some time ago. One questions:

There is a new version of the "PS:T Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack", can i just install it over my modded installation of the game (i already have PS:T Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack installed) or do i have to reinstall everything ?
I dont talk about savegames, i will start a new game anyway...i just want to know if it is possible to "update" to a new version of the Fixpack without uninstallation of the old one.

Thanks !

This isn't mentioned here, but should be: http://www.shsforums.net/topic/48732-ddraw-fix-for-slowdownsstuttering/

This fixed all my slowdowns at 1680x1050 with all of the recommended mods install (widescreen, UI fix, Fixpack, UB, tweaks) - and that's with the game running in a Win7 VM under OS X.

More on this in the slowdown thread, where Hannibal942 first mentioned this fix: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/planescape_torment/resolving_slowdown_graphical_glitches/post24

No, it shouldn't... well, partially. Because it's obsolete now according to this post.

The "new" is this one: http://bitpatch.com/ie_ddrawfix.html

But beware that I haven't tried it out as I have not yet started my own copy of Ps:T either in original mode or fully modded.
I can't install the fixpack - after applying the widescreen and UI mods (successfully, and the game launches after), I get the following error:
ERROR: [SPKGAUNT.ITM] -> [override] Patching Failed (COPY) (Invalid_argument("Char.chr"))
Stopping installation because of error.
Stopping installation because of error.

ERROR Installing [PS:T Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack, by Qwinn], rolling back to previous state

Also, the game started randomly freezing when entering buildings (stuck after completing an autosave), probably the result of the above patches.
especially for windows 8 problems,

first this:

http://thunderpeel2001.blogspot.com/2009/01/planescape-torment-fully-modded.html

then this:

Mod guide is pretty awesome but there is some info missing for the new Windows. When you change the resolution game becomes unplayable under the new Windows. This is what you have to do:

Download wined3d.exe ( http://www.nongnu.org/wined3d/ ) and open it with 7-zip, Peazip or whatever you are using and extract libwine.dll, wined3d.dll, ddraw.dll from $SYSDIR into your Planescape: Torment folder.

That should solve the problem.

The people doing the new Baldurs Gate want to give Planescape the same treatment. Here is my tip, buy Planescape for 9.99, install mods, boom enhanced edition for 10 bucks cheaper. THANK YOU GOG
I'm planning on installing the mods soon, but I have a question, are you guys sure about the installation order of these mods? The reason I ask is because usually with the Infinity Engine games it's recommended to install the widescreen mod AFTER installing bug fixes. (I think) Thanks in advance for an answer.
