On one of his Twitter feeds, Trent Oster declared that his company would like to prepare an enhanced edition for good ol' Planescape: Torment.
Although I am extremely sceptical about this idea (considering that Chris Avellone would probably not be part of the team), I still would like to know what would YOU like to see added/changed within a new edition.

As for me, the following would be delightful and/or necessary:
- Incorporating ALL of the fixes made by Qwinn and his mods,
- expanding the banter between NPC's, especially those that have little interaction currently (Dak'kon/Morte; Vhailor/Nordom etc.)
- expanding the overall story and level of interaction with some of the more shallow party members, especially Ignus and Fall-From-Grace (I want a regular romance!)
- expanding the factions, especially Xaositects (adding new quests, promotion opportunities, faction-only spells etc.) and perhaps adding at least one new (personally would love the Athar since, as the manual of the game states, the Nameless One is forsaken by all the gods),
- implementing more "Lawful and Evil" and "Chaotic and Good" dialogue options, since those were sparse,
- allowing TNO to become a priest (fits perfectly with the Athar, in which case he would be a priest of The Great Unknown, or any other "priest of a concept, not a god" theme)
- finally some pieces of armour/robes (I myself would make all of them unique and faction-based, even in the case of common armour),

In short, I would like to see more of a "deepening" of the game, rather than an expansion. However, if I would HAVE to choose a new quest line, I'd like to see more told about Aoskar, the dead god of portals. His story always seemed so sad to me and, once again, would fit great with Athar (or The Sign of One, who are trying to ressurect him).

Source?

Edit: Nvm

I'm ok with this as long as the dialogue is untouched. If done right, this could be really cool.

The source code to the game is lost. I've tried to get it a few years back and its lost for good. I really don't see this ever being a reality. It would be a lot easier to create a new game in PST universe I think.

1. It will be some kind of expanding story only like Qwinn's Deionarra's Truth mod. You're not going to see new voice acting for existing PC's or a lot of stuff in OP.
2. They're recreating the game from scratch in a new engine. This would be a lot of work and again, you'd be missing the source specific to PST. GemRB isn't complete with all modification to base IE. And you still wouldn't have any new voice acting for say banters.
And I bought a copy of this game last week.
Ohh well, it was well worth the time and money anyways :)
I would really enjoy a EE but what is this Athar faction? I recently finished the game and I don't remember anything about that. First I thought you meant Aoskar but I googled it and it seems that I missed something (I didn't finsh all the side quests).

In the Planescape D&D setting, the Athar is an atheist faction that claims the gods aren't divine, but just a type of powerful, mortal being. I don't think they appear in the game, though,

(I'd be cool with an enhanced edition, but what I'd really like to see is more games set in the same setting, with similar-quality writing).

Ah. They sound intresting considering they say in-game that Lady of Pain killed Aoskar where as in most fictions God(s) is usually immortal.

I would also like to see a game with the same universe but different story. Hopefully the latest talk about PST 2 would eventually make a kickstarter (to avoid producer issues like deadline, mainstream audience) game with that intent with the most or at least some of the original game devs of PST. :)
The only thing I really want from any of these infinity engine enhanced editions is better loot gathering. Its tedious in every single IE game, having to pixel hunt a million and one piles of gold and other junk.

I have a hard enough time doing it with a mouse, now Imagine trying to do that on the iPad with its really bad fine touch definition. I really hope this is something they've 'tweaked'.
Better path finding AI would be nice. Half the times my characters die is because only one is attacking while the others keep running into him instead of going around and whacking the monster.

All the glitches need to be fixed.
Oh, and giving the option to turn all the moving blinking crap at the bottom of the screen (and the animated character avatars at the bottom) off would be nice.

It would also be nice if the dustmen didn't force me to kill them after they let me into their mortuary.

And please keep the game free of bouncing/blinking/moving cursors (front mission four has a fine example of a really annoying cursor).

It would also be neat if they could get the old 3d models for the game and make the game full 3d. I would improve the models too. The joints and hips of some of them look really odd.

And what is this Athar?

Oh yes, I had that issue as well. When you're in the market and order TNO to run from one place to another and the people are in the way it takes forever..

I read somewhere you could change some number along with FPS to compansate for that but unfortunately that was just after I finished it.

Generalelectric@ About Athar, google "planescape athat" and you should get an explanation. Apparently the PST team didn't have the resources/time to put in all the factions they wanted or perhaps didn't think it would fit just in the Torment story.
I would like to see the mechanics updated to the 3.5 edition version of D&D. It would make the nameless one a much more interesting character to build, and the combats would be more involved.

Maciej_S: snip
I'd like to see the other elements of the game (such as combat) reworked and fixed, so Planescape will have extra replayability and attract more players.
if this ever happens, it wouldnt be too hard to make torment the best game ever. Theyd just have to do the following: clean up combat mechanics... and add epic optional fights (dragon-sort of things)
In my opion we don't need a remake or a EE we need a new planescape game. In a new engine, new story, new planes to explore, new characters (although cameos of older one would be welcome) and more skills per class arcatype. What the hell happened to that NWK2 mod Planscape in the cage?
