chautemoc: It's really best to start from scratch again -- you're likely to get conflicts if you don't.
Some prefer 1280x800 also..more intimate or something..I like 1680x01050 though.
Chautemoc -

I loaded up the wide screen mode and set it to 1920 X 1200 (same as montor) but things are way to small. If I re-install the wide screen mod to change the resolution do I need to re-install all the other mods as well.

Not positive. I think it's best to do it in the order listed so reinstalling without starting over could have ill effects. You could try and see...

Thanks - just hoping to avoid the whole process again just to change the resolution. Should be able to write a script / batch file to do them all but that would take time too.

But greatly appreciated I'm sure. :)

It actually recognized the other mods and their settings - very cool. Only re-ran the wide screen mod.

Good to hear. Enjoy. :)
Thanks so much for this thread, folks. I actually installed PsT this evening using my 2-disk version and it seems to work flawlessly so far (only played a few minutes to test). Johnny Walker's page alone was beautifully comprehensive and easy to understand.

I did knock down the resolution of the game from my native 1680x1050 to 1280x800, though. Things were just too small for my eyes otherwise (pretty though!). 1440x900 didn't seem to work for me oddly enough, and I'd get a weird error message if I tried to run the game in that resolution. Still, I don't mind the resolution it's at now since I find it a nice compromise between visibility and (what I consider) a nostalgic PC-looking game ;)
I just tested this and it works extremely well... Im using 24" monitor and i had some trobles running the game in full 1920x1080 resolution. But i solved it by running the resolution mod again as 1280x800 with 80% increased front size and it works perfectly. The game is so much more beautiful now and so much easier for the eye! Thanks!
widescreen-v2.60.exe isn't working for me, a compatibility issue.

I'm using Windows 7 64.

Tried compatibilty mode XP SP 2 and that didn't work...

Any ideas?

Try download the new v3.05. You can get the link from the same website.
Nvm, find and installed "widescreen-v3.05.exe" version.

Oh, yeah, thanks :)

Silen: Hello everyone!
I own the 4 cd version of Planescape torment and being a customer of GOG I rejoiced when I saw in the forum that there exist a widescreen mod for this old masterpiece .
I followed the guide linked in the first post of this topic and now I'm playing at 1920x1080...all is fine but as many other people said, all is way too small to really enjoy the game.

I'm about to restart from scratch but I have a question first...how will look the game if I set a resolution like, say, 1280x720? I fear it will not look so good as the native resolution of my widescreen monitor is 1920x1080....

Vagabond: 1280x720 looks fabulous. It's what I use and it's pretty much the best option.
Is it normal for the cutscenes to look super small when you applied the widescreen patch? I can't immerse myself with the cutscene, because i can't see anything.
Yeah, the cut scenes should look small. They were only rendered for a 640x480 or 800x600 display.

If you choose 1280 x 720 as your res, they'll be big enough to see and the game itself still looks supurb! At 1920 x 1080, not only are the cutscenes too small but the game itself is too small. Yeah there is a lot of stuff shown but everything is so tiny.

Also make sure to use the other mods listed. VAST improvements abound!

chautemoc: Yes, go into Catalyst Control Center > Graphics > Desktop & Displays > click triangle in bottom left > configure > Enable GPU scaling (scale image to full panel size)
Thank you!!
