Hello everyone!
I own the 4 cd version of Planescape torment and being a customer of GOG I rejoiced when I saw in the forum that there exist a widescreen mod for this old masterpiece .
I followed the guide linked in the first post of this topic and now I'm playing at 1920x1080...all is fine but as many other people said, all is way too small to really enjoy the game.
I'm about to restart from scratch but I have a question first...how will look the game if I set a resolution like, say, 1280x720? I fear it will not look so good as the native resolution of my widescreen monitor is 1920x1080....

1280x720 looks fabulous. It's what I use and it's pretty much the best option.I own the 4 cd version of Planescape torment and being a customer of GOG I rejoiced when I saw in the forum that there exist a widescreen mod for this old masterpiece .

I'll make the try.
My only regret is that every try means uninstalling and then reinstalling all the stuff. Sigh.

The post I made right above this one, has screenshots showing Torment in 1280x720.

I still have some widescreen problems...today I reinstalled all the stuff in 1280x720 , now the game looks better BUT the game screen does not fill my monitor! I have those annoying black band on both sides....can it be a problem of graphical card settings? I own a Radeon 4950....

Yes, go into Catalyst Control Center > Graphics > Desktop & Displays > click triangle in bottom left > configure > Enable GPU scaling (scale image to full panel size) I believe you need a direct DVI connection for this to work, if you don't.

Followed this guide:

my only question is, why does the game sometimes crash when I go indoors?

Possibly cause you have UAC enabled and/or installed it inside Program Files w/UAC enabled. It crashed for me every time I changed areas under those conditions. It's not related to modding.

It's happening to lots of people, we had a thread about it a few days ago. It seems to happen mainly on Vista and Win7, and though it's annoying at least it doesn't mess with the saves. Basically the message means that the game shut down in a way Windows doesn't understand, and because it doesn't understand it panics.

For those playing on a resolution lower than their native resolution and wish to run the game in a window, use d3dwindower.
