gamesfreak64: Funny thing is that i had win7 updates, i rarely use win7 so i started it up (once a week or so to check the updates)
the recommende critical ones, i seldom use the optional updates cause they used to mess up my windows, i know that from experience , been using since win95 on my 100 mhz 8 mb pc with a small hd (that was long time ago)
And some games started to give problems, now i dont believe in the supernatural, I dont believe in anything for that matter, but if i did you would say that i have ghosts in my pc :D hahaha
Ah well, if it wont work theres no man overboard, as long as some games work i am a happy camper.
Question: if i had win7 32bits (if there is one) would the problems be the same? or is it because of the 64 bit that most stuff wont work?
YnK: I
am using Win7
64 bit, and everything works perfectly. However, I don't think I've installed any updates for quite some time (maybe a few months or longer - kept forgetting to do this). So it is possible that some of those are responsible for the game not working.
I'm not quite sure, since in that case there would've been more reports of such errors (I've seen some before, but those were pretty old). But this does technically confirm that it's a system configuration issue, i.e. the problem isn't that it's Win7 64 bit, but that it has something installed that caused issues with some programs. Tracking down
what it is is the hardest part. I would still make the updates the prime suspect, then look at what else I have running (like video/audio, etc.)
(Why do I always fail to trigger the errors other people claim to have, even just for debugging? XD)
I update the win7 as soon as the updates are available, also did that with the previous windows I owned.
I got King Of Dragon Pass to work on WinXP 32bit SP3
when i totally closed the mbam tool(which is a excellent anti malware protection software ( i can recommend it to anyone who needs malware protection)
However KODPshows a large window called Mplayer, inside is the game window,
but the game is not what i expected it would be, i think HOMM is far better :D
KODP: The texts are using custom fonts and they are horrible to read...
the designer should have used a normal defauld fonts like times or something
cause these fonts no matter how large i make them aren't simply readable.
Mbam tool however works flawlessly with todays software, never got a problem (only with KODP)
most of the older games i bought work without problems..
KODP is an exception, but since KODP isnt quite what i thought it would be (i got only 'blinded' by the graphics, which made me think it was the kinda game i like to play (but its not) so thats not bad that kodp wont work with mbam, cause i wont play it, its not my kind of game. I keep playing Homm and games like that :D
So the KODP problem is solved.
Now I only need the Planescape Torment to work under my win7 64bit
it runs good under win XP sp3, but i need it to work under win7 64bits.
So i am quite a happy camper now that one problem has been solved, thanks.
