Hey everyone,

I purchased Planescape: Torment and attempted to download the game via the GoG downloader. It has finished 1004 of 1010 megs and has sat there for a day and a half now. It appears chunk 19 in the download file is the missing 6 megs of the file.

I've already tried turning off the firewall, removing and readding the download link both before and after deleting the file piece, and tried to download it via the browser to have it hang at 195 meg (which also correlates to that chunk 19). Needless to say I'm getting frustrated.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas beyond what I've already tried?

Thanks

Besides firewall, do you have any AV program running? Like AV Webguard, etc.

Running Avira 10, I've tried disabling that as well to no avail. The final piece of the download still hangs up right at the same point, 4770 KB on chunk 19.

I just check the file, I can download up to and past chunk 19 without problem. Which means the file on the server is ok. Something on your side is actively preventing access to that chunk 19.

When you say you tried disabling Avira, did you do so completely - i.e. did you kill all related processes in Task Manager? And then restarted the Downloader?

Full on diagnostic startup using msconfig under Windows 7.

Application Layer Gateway Service
DHCP Client
DNS Client
Extensible Authentication Protocol
Netlogon
Network Connections
Network List Service
Network Location Awareness
Network Store Interface Service

To get my network connection going are the only processes enabled. Removed chunk 19 again and reentered link to download the file via the GoG downloader, still only recieving 4770 kb of the 10240 kb file.

I'm making the base assumption that the GoG dowloader is downloading in a fashion similar to a file split into .rar so all the file sizes will be the same down to the last one, chunk 101 which is 104kb.

Just tried to download a couple of the free games. Beneath a Steel Sky (80 odd megs) came down and launched the GoG Installer without a hitch as did the other one.

The file may be ok at the location Thiev is getting it from but corrupt at the location you're getting it from, it has happened a few times before, last time was with Phantasmagoria2's installer, the file was coming through ok for everybody except for folks in the US.

I'm not saying that this is what's happening, just that it can happen and it has happened. It's impossible to get a clear picture of what's going on without other folks from the US trying to download that same file and confirm its status one way or the other.

I'd send a mail to support so that they can make sure the file is ok all throughout the tubes.

Thanks for the help, I guess the only other thing is that the support message box says that the message should appear in the My Messages tab under My Account and it does not at this time. Is that normal?

Yes, it's normal, that tab did indeed existed but it was taken down a while back to fix some bugs and it hasn't returned yet. Your messages still go through to gog though, and their replies go to your email .

The current 'My messages' tab refers to the PM system and not to the support tickets system like the old one did.
