I've just started to try out the game, and so far it seems like it's a blast. Then i see there's 2-player option, but when i turn it on there's no way to bind controls to a second player. Help menu and manuals are sparse and useless so far.

Help??

It's a user forum. Open a support ticket to have GOG see your question. I am a bit surprised that no one else who owns the game was able to answer.

Might be a good idea, although I am more inclined to open a ticket if the game won't start or play for some reason, while the problems I'm having I doubt they could affect since it's like a disabled feature (or something related to the Steam API that was turned off maybe?). Hmmm....

I've since beat the game, but I'd still enjoy playing Co-op...

Sure, but it's a valid support question. You could always PM a blue, e.g. Judas.

I've opened a ticket. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.
It's about what I expected for the support ticket.

I've checked the game and it seems that the Two Player option is only available if a controller is plugged in. The configuration can be changed from the main screen before the Two player option is selected. This might be a bug in the game, please contact the Developers
I'm sure a big portion of this is a number of developers assume you're going to use a 360 controller (and a number of games are XBLA ports which makes sense). However I'm using a PS2 controller (via USB adapter).

I'd consider using 360 controller(s), but all the ones I have are 'wireless' because my GF wanted wireless controllers (and I'd have gone with some USBs). So yeah not playing using those and not going to buy some $30+ M$ gamepads when I got some that will work just fine.

Anyways, I've contacted the devs, we'll see what they say, who knows maybe they will to patch the game to fix this oversight.

I don't like 360 controllers. How much effort is it to add DirectInput support to a game anyway?

Hopefully, and thanks for the report.
Got a reply from the Devs:
Unfortunately there is an issue with the game with the current release on GOG, we are working currently to get a patch out as soon as possible that will fix the controller issues that people have been encountering.

Nice, thanks.

Well there is good news otherwise; Got a Xbox receiver so I can use the controllers I already own rather than having to buy new ones. The game works fine with 2 Xbox-360 controllers, although reconfiguring so i can do auto-fire is a bit of a pain.... Don't want to wear out those bumpers...

Hmmm... So many controllers, so few the games actually like :(
