Hi, just thinking if I should get this whilst it's on sale right now.

To people who've actually played the game, is it like FTL (Faster Than Light), except instead of spaceships, it's boats and ships?

I've also read some of the reviews and it said it was buggy and glitchy, should I still consider getting it anyways? I will get it if it's pretty much like FTL(I found FTL fun to play! haha), but instead with boats and ships.

Thanks.

Really? So either this forum has gone quiet after September 2015, or people are overlooking my question...

Damn, well I guess I'll have to figure this out myself whether I should bother or not - already got a list of games on backlog anyways and having this will just make it one game longer on the backlog....

Well it's not like FTL that's for sure :P Beat the game a while ago, I made a thread about it as I recall.. Back in... July of 2015? Not sure, it's easy enough to find.

So the game. Let's see... I'm planning on writing a full review elsewhere, but I can answer any and all your questions.

edit: Alright did my review. I beat the game I just don't know if I'll replay/rebeat it now.

Didn't exactly tell me if this was similar to FTL or not......

Thanks for the review I read it. ☺

Everything's old but still I can figure out where things are at, sorry I didn't answer the question before.

It has a few very simple similarities to Pixel Piracy, namely the going around and trying to amass more money/crew/resources/skills before the final fight...

That's probably where the similarities end (so 1 in like 10 things). In FTL every fight could be your last, while Pixel Piracy you are spending a lot of time just coasting around, you can explore every sector you want before facing the four pirate lords, so it's a far more lax game. It also has a lot more silly humor, like the deck cleaning skill is throwing poop :P

Anyways hope you enjoyed the review I wrote.

Hmm seeing more and more HTML encodings instead of the pure BBCode. Seen that when editing my reviews page.

Best to edit it back to BBCode if you want.

I actually don't know any HTML, but know a bit of BBCode from steam and other forums that use it as they've kinda made me memorize the stuff....hahaha if I want it to look pretty and well organized.... So my post must have glitched or something...lol

Do the forums here take HTML or BBCode? or both?

Strictly BBCode. And a very limited set of it too.

Is there a (full and not partial, there are some BBCode that are missing from steam's formatting help which worked that I later found out...)formatting guide like what steam does to their forums or other forums or do you have to find out if they work or not by trial and error? hahaha...

Ok I tried editing out that html crap but I can't find it....it's invisible or it's not there yet the post displays it anyways...? I've attached a picture for illustration...

If the html is missing, then that's because it's adding it in JS during loading, and then messing up. a GoG forum bug. Don't worry about it. I just sometimes see it injected in my replies.

As for supported codes, includes bold, itallic, underline, and url. Some addons via greasemonkey or something I've added the images pre-loading as well as strike-through, but those aren't officially supported.

Oh, so it's a bug....a known bug at that .....

Wow, that's even more limited than steam's collection, which, in addition to bold, italics, underline and url, can do strike through, heading, spoilers, no parse, tables, quote, code and dot points of which the latter four aren't documented which I found out by trial and error..... Apparently you used to be able to colour code text, but they've since removed that feature.....which is a shame....because I thought it'd look cleaner and more organized with coloured text than just bland white on everything...

With the preloading images, is that like an inline image feature where I can just upload a picture in the attachment and then add that inline in the post without the person needing to click on the attachment? Or is that more of adding a picture url and forcing it to open inline in the post so the person doesn't have to click the link to open a new tab to view the image if it's already opened and inline viewable within the post? Or both? Coz that'd make a good guide/faq or anything requiring pictures inline for convenience rather than forcing users to click out just to view the picture...

Hmmm forgot quote... However it's a weird custom version, where it only refers to local thread posts, and you can't specify user, time, url, or other meta data... so {quote_1} refers to the first post... very weird...

I have a BBCode script that does a huge amount of BBCode, including super and subscripts, very useful sometimes. Alas, not here. Colors might be nice but only different colors allowed are from staff (blue), and developers(gold/brown). Makes it very easy to tell who is official and who isn't. Probably a security thing.

Basically the script takes the images and changes it to <img> tags, and forces a width thing. My script is public, it's very lightweight compared to say bare (bear?) necessities.

Yes, it is weird because you're not allowed to direct quote from another page(Or person) of the same domain steam does with theirs....

Fair enough... What about power users or and moderators? I'm guessing you're one of them if you're able to force select solution for my thread topic....

Huh? Truthfully there's only the admins and the users, power users don't have any special abilities, as far as i know. Well, beyond up/down vote and flagging...
