I don't seem to be able to save this game. From the manual, I should be in port, but when I'm there I don't get any options to save. Can anybody tell me what I have to do to save a game? It also gets very laggy and the controls leave a lot to be desired.

GOG support kindly gave the solution to this:

"For Pirates GOLD, when in town press the Spacebar, in the captain's quarters select the drawer on the right side to save the game."

I can't seem to find where to click…. Oh well, it's pretty much unplayable with this crazy lag anyway. First gog game that I have bought and been disappointed with.

I also can't find the commode (is it the chest of drawers next to the bed where you can quit the game?) I click everywhere on that thing but nothing happens...
