Alisa.R.Currahee: Sometimes I cannot see the Select Menu text.
Hickory: You have the I.E. mod installed, don't you?
I wasn't going to reply to this post, until I saw Hickory's reply. I didn't figure another "me too" reply would be helpful. However, I am experiencing the same issue. It also appears to be only cosmetic. I am not using any mods of any kind. The laptop is relatively new, 8 days since delivery and has nearly no extra cruft on it yet. I'm running a fresh install of the Pillar's of Eternity, gog package "2.03 (GOG-12)". I didn't patch it upwards from the "2.02 (GOG-11)" package either.
Computer Specs (Alienware):
- Windows 8.1 Pro
- Intel Core i6820HK @ 2.70 GHz
- 16 GB Ram
- Nvidia Geoforce GTX 980M - 4GB (its got Intel 530 HD Graphics integrated as well, I use the Nvidia as default)
- 512 GB SSD boot and 1 TB hard drive
The game is running from the hard drive not from the solid state drive. Windows runs at 3840x2160 and I play the game windowed at 2560 x 1600.
I haven't done any troubleshooting as it truly does seem to be only cosmetic. I've only been playing the game for a few days and appear to have no other issues of any kind with it.
I'm more than happy to live with it, I was just posting a reply in case any more info might help narrow the problem down.
I can post more info if needed.

Since I posted, I looked around on the web out of curiosity and found identical complaints on both steamcommunity and forums.obsidian.net.
forums.obsidian.net/topic/81872-missing-buttons-on-map-transitions-saved-games/
that thread has a developer saying stating "We are aware of the issue though, but its extremely hard to reproduce."
Suggested fixes were as follows:
Steam: Chances are you need to perform a verify cache on steam. Go to you steam library, right-click Pillars of Eternity > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
GoG: If you have the GoG Galaxy Client, you will be able to perform a verify/repair function with works like the steam equivalent.

No idea if this works or not. I don't have the Galaxy Client on this machine and can't run Pillars of Eternity on my old laptop, which does have the client. I'd also guess it would require PoE to be closed while doing this *chuckle* which fixes my problem to begin with for a few hours.
