what character will you create?
Probably a rogue or perhaps a mage. The race, I am not sure, elfish or human most likely.
Tempted by a godlike monk. Always liked monks in D and D. The only thing that might stop me (in the first playthrough) is a lack of equipment dedicated to monks/that monks can use.

I think Pillars wouldnt be D&D, its only a successor of baldurs gate in mind not in rules

Correct. Pillars has it's own proprietary ruleset. Quite complicated from what I've seen so far. Looking forward to getting into it, though.
I won't be playing the game for a while (will wait at least 3 patches), but when I do!

Either a Death Godlike or a Nature Godlike. Probably a Death because of how their qualities are affected by their type and them being generally badass seeming. Not sure what class. In RPGs I almost always play a mage or wizard type because I do a better job than the AI I feel and also so I can control the main offensive spells of my party and choose which pretty flashy graphics I see when (spell effects turn me on!) But wizard just doesn't appeal to me in this game for some reason, so I'll probably either play a Cipher or some type of Fighter (which I never choose to play as my main character in RPGs, so it might be fun to actually go with one for once.)

I guess a Paladin or a Rogue or a Priest to break the standard? :D

After seeing many let's plays, I'm thinking elven druid, but I'm not sure yet. I might change my mind at the last moment.
Probably a Fire Godlike Chanter, and a rogue at the Inn to waddle around and find traps for me.

I'm betting on a chaotic evil dwarven berserker, dual wielding axes, a la Korgan.

Ha, me too! I often fondly remember him angrily leaping upon Minsk and other goodies in the party for some perceived slight.

Absolutely. First time I ever played and got him, right away and ever since. No one else comes close!

I even have his trading card, lucky enough to get it with the game when I got it when it released.

Now I'm jealous, I bought this game when it was released too and I didn't get any trading cards!
