i always prefer gog.com but will it also be treated well like the steam version? updates, workshop etc.?
Not sure what you mean by 'treated well', but yes, it will get patches. They generally lag behind Steam by a couple or three days though. GOG does not have a Workshop functionality, but you can get game mods from the Nexus site that will work on the GOG game.
Buy the steam version. I have the GOG version and it is bugged and I can't continue playing without the new patch (which is available on Steam, but not GOG)
bummer just got the gog.com version :/

At least the patch will fix your broken save as well

So when someone asks which version to buy right now the answer should be steam. Soon we can tell them GOG

I prefer GOG, because no DRM, period. Yeah I may have to wait a day longer or so for patches, but you got to have your priorities (not saying that these must be your priorities as well), right? And yes, I play the linux version, which btw. runs great!

I'm just pointing out that the patch is coming for the gog version as well.

Don't worry about it. Most of the bugs will hopefully not impact you until you get a bit further into the game anyway. And when GOG eventually pulls its finger out and provides a patch - it will fix your preexisting saved games anyway.

For me its just a waiting game now because I can't progress further run the game without the patch. You should be ok though to start playing

Heh. No need to apologize. It's partially my fault. I was replying to grantmason110's comment above and forgot to hit 'Reply'.
Sucks about your save. Hope it works out for you.
If you think that people with 1.03 on steam are any better than 1.02 on gog you are mistaken.
Game in active patching stage for now. GOG proved itself as best platform for purchasing old games. But this game proved - GOG is poor platform for purchasing a new games. Cause it takes a long time to release a patch on GOG.. Go for steam version. If you dont want to wait for fixes and stuff :)
hmhmhmhmmm well but now i could play it even without the internet on my laptop :D, i thought about it and even if i have to wait a few more days i shit on 'DRM and this way i could even show it my friend instead of having to login everytime!

just hurry gog please... and also make it better visible what updates when i see "UPDATED LIBRARY" dont want to ask in the forums "what did get updated now?" always....

This game has not an official mod support so there shouldn't be any workshop available.
Obsidian is not against mod, but it's not offering an official tool for it.

Patches will be available of course, usually GoG take a couple days after steam because there is different QA behind the two companies.

My personal rule is that if the game has a strong multiplayer component I'd prefer going for steam. If not, i'll go with GoG to support a non-DRM culture.
